(Full disclosure: I knew Rebekah as a friend before hiring her as a photographer.)…read more I found myself in a pinch needing a photographer for multiple Yelp events in one night, and it dawned on me that Liz M had mentioned our friend, Rebekah, was doing photography for her cookbook. I gave Rebekah a call (actually, I sent her bf a Facebook message), and she was happy to help me! Before the event, Rebekah asked for my expectations and the types of shots I wanted. We talked through the two events she was photographing, and we both felt good about them. She showed up early for the event and quietly got to work capturing some amazing shots of the event. Then, she left the first event in Dublin and traveled to the second one in Grandview. She beat me there and got right to work. I just opened my photos from the events, and they are spectacular. I know Rebekah's Facebook and website don't boast a lot about her event photography, but I think that's where she shines. She really captured the spirit and the joy in both events, and the photos will be fantastic marketing tools for me and the businesses featured. I'm really impressed with Rebekah's photography, and I had such a great experience working with her. Here are a few specifics of what I loved: -She asked for expectations upfront. -She arrived on time and didn't need much direction. -She walked the fine line of being part of the event but also blending into the background; sometimes photographers are so noticeable that people won't let their hair down and act natural. Rebekah was perfect! -Her photos really tell the story of the events--nothing posed and cheesy. -The turnaround for getting the photos back was really fast--the next day! This was my first time working with Rebekah, but it most certainly won't be my last. She is an absolute joy, and her work is stellar.

Finding a great photographer was one of the top priorities for my wedding, as I knew the photos would last long after the music had stopped playing and the cake gone. So I choose Addison after watching the outstanding work she did on my friend's wedding. She has an amazing eye for stunning shots and unique angles, using natural lighting in a way to deliver soft, high-contrast photos that absolutely take your breath away. In her hands, what would be a standard photo taken by anyone else comes out as a beautiful portrait that's beyond magazine and Instagram-worthy! She's pure magic. In fact, she delivered such amazing photos from both our engagement shoot and our wedding, that I truly got emotional both times when I first looked at them. And I've received so many compliments since at how beautiful the results were, with many guests have commenting that they're the loveliest wedding photos they've ever seen -- and all credit goes to Addison's talent! What's more, the process itself is painless. She makes you feel so comfortable with her while she's shooting, and puts the proper focus and professionalism on you throughout the day. She works hard to get you the best shots, that you'll love to look back on for years to come! The memories she's captured for us are priceless. Thank you!

Working with Addison, any nervousness quickly dissipates. Our shoot was really relaxed, laid back, and most importantly of all, fun! The two hours we spent working with Addison flowed naturally, there were no forced moments or poses - every moment came about naturally with just the right amount of direction from her. In addition to her incredible and inspiring work, you can tell how much she loves what she does and how much she cares about the details as she spent her own time the day before, scouting the best locations in the area we wanted our photographs taken - a very welcome touch. She was so much fun to work with and the moments she captured on film are sure to encapsulate much of what we love about our relationship. After our awesome engagement photo experience, we are most definitely having Addison capture our wedding with 100% confidence - her work speaks for itself.

We sort of stumbled on Sarah at Desired Focus. A wedding photographer is a hugely important part of…read morethe planning stages; their job is to capture all the moments on one of the most emotional days of your life. We wanted someone who could not only capture the moment but also our personalities. We were fairly intimidated when we started shopping around. My husband has been studying photography for awhile and had some very specific ideas about his wants and don't wants. We both agreed that we wanted a photographer who would get as much right in-camera and have a subtle touch with the post-processing work. Since we were going for a pretty non-traditional wedding, we also needed someone who would "get" it... or, at least, be game for it. We lucked out with Sarah across the board. Pretty much from the moment we met her at a consult, we were sold. Not only does she have extremely solid photographic and post-processing skills, she is exceptionally nice and out-going. We had a blast at an engagement shoot in Granville. She had great ideas and was open to suggests of location/pose/etc... A couple weeks after the shoot, Sarah came by and we went through the shoot to pick out shots to enhance. Then a couple weeks later (due to technical issues), we got the results and they were fantastic! At this point, we knew we'd chosen the right person to photograph our wedding. About a month before the ceremony, we went over a shot list (our requested photographs) and asked that Sarah take as many candids as she wanted. We also gave her a warning; the event location (16-Bit bar & arcade) is quite dark and that could be an issue. On our event day, Sarah arrived promptly and went to work right away. She took mostly candid shots with a few posed shots mixed in. She blended in with the crowd so that you didn't know that she was there most of the time.. but she also mingled freely and looked like she was having as much fun as the rest of us! This past weekend we were able to get a look at the pictures. And they are amazing! They are so good that we aren't having any of them enhanced. Typically, I hate the way I photograph but she got some shots of me where I look fantastic. We are thrilled with the photographs that Sarah took. I would highly recommend her for wedding, event or portrait photography. She also teaches some photography classes every so often. Her Facebook page is more frequently updated than her website so check for her there.
