He gave a thorough and comprehensive explanation of every aspect of the window, sliding door, and front door replacement. Our first estimate did not include replacement of three trapezoidal windows and one rectangular window above the front door. Once we realized that these existing windows were not impact-resistant, I requested that they be added to the job. Rob came and did extensive measurements, then he returned again with an even more experienced expert to confirm everything. The preliminary work must have been spot on, because these trouble-windows went in with little difficulty. Except for the large section of termite-damaged wood that the installer uncovered and, of course, completely removed and replaced. Given the special geometric and installation requirements, the finished product is incredible. The installation crew was technically expert. In addition, each one had a real concern for the extensive interior memorabilia throughout the home that we were unable to relocate before the work. Everything was covered and protected from both dust and inadvertent contact. This gave us the confidence not to worry about damage, and of course there was none. The final process involved filling holes in the stucco made by the removal of ancient sliding shutters, installing new trim around the three trapezoidal windows, and touch-up painting, including the new front door. Once again, extreme care was given to protecting the inside of the house near the door and the exterior screened entrance. The work was neat and thorough, and the final cleanup was total and complete I can't recommend Armored Dade highly enough. In my relatively brief stay in Florida, I of course have not avoided the countless TV commercials for window replacement: 0% off; buy 1 get 1; get 4; etc. Rob made no mention of any "deals" at his initial visit because with a top-quality product installed by a top-quality firm, there is no need for gimmicks.

I spoke with two persons at Shutter Shop and was told there is now a service fee for home evaluation and also repair costs for involved problems. I was told previously that a LifeTime Warrantee was in place on several occasions and to date, this has been honored. Now being told differently. I requested a call from the Manager or New Owner and have not received a call to date. BEWARE -The original company was sold and things do not appear as they originally were. I have referred to many friends/relatives to this company and now I WOULD NOT recommend using them any longer. DISAPPOINTED!!! ADDENDUM: WE have since received an email from the GM of the Shutter Shop further clarifying the Warrantee which does not cover repairs, service charges and such although does cover the shutter composite and unit itself. A return email has been forwarded to him explaining that our decision has not been made, to date, in regards to pursuing repairs at this time with the Shutter Shop. If I could give zero stars, I would. I originally chose this company because my boss had a great experience with Steve & Laurie, the previous owners. Their work was excellent--high-quality products, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to standing by their warranty. Because of that, I decided to order 15 custom blinds, including 7 motorized ones, for a total cost of $11,050.00. The installation was perfect, and I was initially very happy with my purchase. THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN AFTER THE COMPANY WAS SOLD A few months after installation, one of my motorized blinds stopped working. Thankfully, under Steve and Laurie's ownership, this was never an issue. two of my motors stopped working (between 2021 and 2023), Steve personally showed up in a timely manner and resolved it, no hassle, no excuses. That's what I expected after spending this kind of money and knowing I had a warranty, come November 2024, my living room blind motor stopped working I as well called Steve to find out the company had been sold to a new owner, however, Steve says no worries is an easy fix you are cover, it will be the same process as before just call them and they should be able to take care of this which it could take 2-3 weeks max. I was, perfect will do. When I first contacted the new owner, she assured me that it was a simple fix--just a matter of filing a claim with the manufacturer. Great, right? WRONG! here is where my nightmare starts, countless messages, calls, bunch excuses and now solution. 5 MONTHS LATER... STILL NO RESOLUTION November 2024: I contacted the new owner. She took forever to respond, and when she finally did, she promised to take care of it. Nothing happened. December 2024: I followed up again. More excuses, no action. January 2025: I asked for the claim number so I could handle it myself. She tells me don't worry I am working on, I did not realize I was calling the wrong manufactory etc. so claim number was not provide it, instead giving me more empty promises. February 2025: Still no claim number, no replacement, no solution. At this point, I have a completely non-functional blind in my living room for four months, which is beyond frustrating. I can't open or close this blind. March 2025: I finally got her on the phone. She claimed she would call me back with an update. She never did. I texted and called multiple times afterward--no response. I called last week and today no response, so I decided is best to share my story and save you some time for you not to deal with this BS. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & LIES This woman does not care about her customers. She has ignored my calls, texts, and emails for months. When she does respond, it's nothing but excuses, delays, and outright lies. How hard is it to process a simple warranty claim? Her incompetence is beyond belief.
