It was his first time driving a go kart, and the arena is really laid out nice super spacious. Each round you get 12 laps. They had a great time going around the track. It works best if you make reservations before you go so you don't have to wait. They give you a clean head garment to put on before your helmet. Nice touch. The carts are electric so they are fast enough. They also have carts for the little ones. I wish they would keep the inexperienced drivers from the experience ones as it can cause so hard hits to the inexperienced drivers as they don't know the racing lines. I know they do birthday parties, they have some drinks and snacks to enjoy. After each race you can pick up your trimming sheet to see how your time stacks up. We will be back as fun times were had!

They offer different racing venues to the raceway such as Street Stock, Sprints, Late models, Southern Dirt Modifieds and some other race divisions. There is a lot of seating area's for the fans plenty of parking spots for general admissions, handicapped and VIP parking as well. There is a snack bar that offers different kinds of drinks, beer and snacks for the race fan. Also keep in mind if you plan on seating down at the bottom of the stands make sure you wear something to protect yourself and your love one beause mud flies every where. Also this race track is home to the Winter Nationals for all the big boys who come to Florida to put on a great show for everyone who loves dirt racing.

The downside is that the area and chairs in that were dirty, strewn with losing ticket stubs and cigarette butts (although it says no smoking, the guy next to us chain smoked for the entire time). Still, we had fun. Won a little money and placed our bets for Derby Downs which was to take place much later. We had the best mint julep made by a very nice lady bartender who made a wonderful drink. The guy bartender complained about his time being wasted by having to make them. Hey, it's Derby Day! When it was time goes us to move on, we exited via the poker room which was filled with lots of intense players. The area was quite inviting though. The grounds and the interior were very clean and well maintained. Every staff member we encountered (except grumpy bartender) was friendly and helpful which always seems to makes it more fun. Derby Lane management, at best, are incompetent buffoons who are not even qualified to be running a…read morelemonade stand, and at worst, they are outright cheats exhibiting a pompous self-righteous arrogance towards customers, which can be explained only as a designed tactic used to conceal their nefarious actions by attempting to intimidate players into submission. I had the misfortune of visiting their establishment to participate in a promotional event in which the best poker hand every thirty minutes receives $500. When I was successful in doing so; the floorman in attendance then verified the hand and explained that after eight minutes, I would receive the $500, as long as a higher hand was not hit in the remaining eight minutes. However, at the end of the interval, management backtracked and told me that they had made a mistake, and that another exact hand, consisting of quad tens with a jack kicker, had hit before mine, giving it priority because it had occurred earlier in the interval. Even though it's Derby Lane's fiduciary responsibility to accurately inform customers of the current status of the top hand, I explained to them that I would accept their explanation justifying their incompetence if they would show me the video verifying their explanation, but they refused to do so. In response, I contacted the Florida agency responsible for regulating poker rooms, which is currently investigating the incident, but in response to my appeal to the regulatory agency, Derby Lane added insult to injury by issuing a trespassing demand and ordering that I immediately vacate the premises. These heavy-handed tactics are not in any way unique to me, or by any stretch, the exception; they are the rule at Derby Lane. Please, for your own good, keep this in mind before you, too, are a victim of their malfeasance.

Pro Karting Experience is a no-frills karting facility. You drive up, bring or rent a go kart, and…read morego racing! The staff is incredibly friendly. They also care about their equipment and the experience of their guests. I have not had a bad experience here yet. The first Sunday of every month, they host Toddlerdega, or an event where you can bring your own power wheels vehicle and younger kids can drive around the track. The event is from 9-11 am. The cost is $5 per driver and if you need to rent a power wheel for the day, it's an additional $20 for the session. The kids have such a great time and the other parents who attend have all been nice to meet. This is a good time to meet other parents with kids the same age (it's so hard as an adult to meet new people). Towards the end of the session, all of the kids can line up and participate in a grand prix. Recently, there's been so many participants that they've been racing kids by category. It's nice for a place to be so accommodating to toddlers. Our friends are planning a birthday party there. I'm excited to see what the experience will be like.

We paid $20 for a single ride, plus $6 for registration and a helmet cover. Next, we went back to the building where the go-karts are kept. We put on our helmets and waited for our turns. The karts here are well maintained with great track layout. The karts are gas-powered and very easy to speed on the track. During our time riding, we really enjoyed the variety. The track boasts a mix of turns and straight stretches, providing plenty of opportunities for overtaking. The staff is very friendly, and the karts are great. ProKarting is a fantastic spot for family fun, and it's a great place to celebrate special occasions as well.

I live close by so this was a convenient race to attend and used to be quite decent. It went downhill when the organizers decided to cover every inch of fencing with advertising banners basically removing any view outside of the grandstands. I guess these geniuses never got the memo that the draw of a street course is to actually be able to view the race from different vantage points. Let alone the fact that there absolutely no reason to attend any races here unless you have a grandstand seat because otherwise you will see zero action. And honestly the Indy race itself has been quite boring for a number of years because there is basically no where to pass.

This time we went to a viewing of a race car a few weeks before hand and didn't realize they were going to give us pairs of free tickets. We knew we had to go. Parking made me nervous, but we parked in a nearby garage for $25. They said you could take the bus or free trolley, or park at the Tropicana Field for $30 and take a shuttle bus. Once we got there, we walked a block away, they scanned our tickets and we were in. You could see the cars all over, & you could hear them big time. Definitely bring anything for your ears. They have food vendors and vendors for freebies including Wine tasting which was fun from Keel. Elderberry cider is so good. Woodies Car Wash was there and the Cute VW for photo booth pics just to name a few. I loved seeing the cars up close in the various pitstops, seeing the cars race fast from a far in the Grand Stand, and seeing them closer when you walk around the track. They Were So Fast and So Loud!
