We met team representatives at the DTSP First Friday and decided to check out the next competition. The entire evening was extremely entertaining! At halftime, we enjoyed a Rocky Horror Picture Show presentation. This will become a routine activity for us!

My younger sister and I were so excited about it we didn't give it a second thought and brought it right up to the counter. The woman at the counter gave us the points and said she'd text her manager about the note inside. We played for another 30 minutes or so and went back to the counter. She told us our point total and I asked if her manager had texted her back. She said they did, then "ha ha very funny" which caught me off guard. I realize now that it was a prank by whoever had the chest before, but I responded apologetically even though the attitude confused me. She told us something along the lines of "yeah well it's not real" like we were annoying her. She walked away while we were trying to just move on and choose our prizes. Another woman came to help us. The entire interaction left me feeling humiliated and incredibly insulted. I asked a question. I didn't deserve that. Disgusting experience.

It almost make customers to walk to business not business to the customers. It take a good 3 to 5 miles walk if you decided to visit most of the venues. Customers do all the work. Timing- this festival held at the beginning of the summer. It is close to raining season. Why not hold it at march for outdoor activities. Today is just not the day because it is too humid after day of big rain. Sweat all over the place. Value- the venue did not spent money on facility to host this event. All food taste is at the outside of store. The food is provided by the restaurant, the venue only spent money on stamp and web advertising. I think it is negative effects to promote business. $25 value may not enough just to try 10 business. Defeat the purpose to promote business. Food- only a few did a good job. Most of them put up a cheap food or not worth the money. I mean if you are going promote your restaurant and you only serve an average food. How are you going to get the customers back to your restaurant. With that said. I give applause to Kelly's, Olde Bay Cafe, Lucky Lobster and Pisces Sushi. They are the few that do a good job. A lot improvement need to be done on this festival.

That was a running theme for the day And not the last place we saw. Many vendors were off sight. And you had to go to the actual restaurant. The crowd seemed The building is an old house turned in to Scottish society. Decorated with Scottish crests on the walls with member's name. Lots of tables and chairs set up in a large Hall area. There is a kitchen but it was not 'open' so to speak. We were told to bring our own drinks and snacks for this event. We honestly thought they would use tonight to make some money for their cause by selling burgers, dogs, etc... nope. Not the case. Odd. The average age at this event was 70. They enjoyed the music but they asked to have it turned down a couple of times. The Hall was hot but they did turn the heat down or turned the air on which was nice. We are in our 40's and Celtic Conundrum brought in 10 or so much younger people to watch them. We clapped and sang and got the crowd going and seemed to enjoy it. But, we got the feeling that if this society does not get more (younger) people to join their cause it is going to end up closing. Which would be sad! This is Dunedin... it is the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh, Scotland. And the sister city of Stirling, Scotland. Support your roots people! I would love to see this Society have a tent at local events like the Highland games of Dunedin. Or in the many parades in the streets of Dunedin. Mail out flyers explaining who you are and what you are about. We found very little online about the Society and they could benefit hugely from a great social media person. Anyway, support local people. Look them up online. Join their cause. Go to their events. Try something different. I am sure you live in Dunedin somewhat for it's quaintness. Embrace it. I can't describe how sad I am to be the first to review this place. That says a lot about its popularity.

I picked up two small pots I plan to use for succulents from one vendor who was cash only, and then picked up a wine glass holder from a woodworker as well who accepted cards. There was an ATM on site, but I was surprised to hear some artists didn't accept cards given some of the higher price tags here. So be prepared for that. They also have some food and drink options available; I had Frosé from Big Crush Slush, a raspberry yogurt, chocolate dipped ice pop with sprinkles from a vendor, and was lured pretty close to many tents selling hot stuff and actually meals too. Food can be a bit pricy and depending on art - it can be pricey. But still - it's a nice time to wander around.
