where do I begin? Jamie Jansen is a rockstar…read more After changing my wedding plans 5 months before the big day from a traditional medium-sized Ohio wedding to an intimate ceremony in NYC's Central Park I didn't know how Jamie would react. All I did know, is that I wanted him to come with us! I saw his books, studied his website, and heard raving reviews from friends that used his services and knew that no matter what over-priced, world-renown photographer I found in New York, their work would not compare. He is a true artist. He tells your story through his photographs. Did I mention he is super sweet, personable, and funny? Yep, He made everyone loosen up and laugh. He has a great personality, which helps him capture true emotion and genuine smiles. He went above and beyond. He actually brought another photographer with him to NYC (free of charge) just to be sure he was prepared to do the job right. And man, did he nail it. I have gotten a ridiculous amount of compliments on my pictures!! Why am I even rambling?? See for yourself...This is a sneak preview he sent to me a couple days after the wedding: http://www.jamiejansenphoto.com/slideshows/2009/bivins/index.html So boys and girls...what have we learned? Jamie is better than whoever else your considering, I promise you. Even if your not from Ohio (attention my NYC yelpers!) he is worth the travel fees. If he lived in the city he could charge 3 times as much so your actually getting a pretty damn good deal:)

This is someone who is schooled in photography and really understands what he's doing, not just snapping away hoping for a good shot. He stacks the deck in his favor because he's schooled in film and photography. Jamie did our engagement shoot as well as our wedding, and it was FANTASTIC!!! Our engagement photos were the best photos of our lives until our wedding photos! He takes his time to make you comfortable, puts you in settings that will look great, and then has you be yourself. He is not a traditional "SMILE! NOW MOVE OVER HERE! NOW HERE!" He's looking to capture the real moments, not posed, forced, awkward incidents. He'll get as artsy as you want, and will incorporate any and all ideas into the shoot. We could not be happier with our photos, and recommend Jamie wherever you are!

I especially appreciate how responsive and openly communicative she was, I emailed her multiple times and she responded promptly and courteously every time. I asked her upfront about scheduling for a Saturday and she was able to accommodate that, a weekday would not have been possible for us. Mary is a very sweet person, you can tell she genuinely cares. Her home studio is well-heated with background water noise and white noise so that baby is comfortable. She is very professional and knows exactly how to handle the little ones. She processed our photos within 2 days. The photos are lovely! I also ordered prints from her and they are great quality. Highly recommend!

To say we were pleased is an understatement - we continued to utilize her for the entire 3 years I was with the Museum. She is able to capture the essence of the event while in the shadows, obtaining some of the most powerful candid images I've ever seen. She is also skilled at staged/posed photos. Her attention to detail is out of bounds. Struggling with some of our gallery lighting, she took it upon herself to purchase a special lens filter - to ensure we received the highest quality images. So impressed with Chris, I have recently booked her services for the company I now work for, and plan to use her for a personal family shoot as well. Just the nicest person - and so talented. Highly recommended.
