I was asked if there would be a significant other attending sales pitch meeting and I politely indicated I'm a single mom and will make the final decision myself. Yet, I understood the reason behind the inquiry and had no problems with it. The sales guy was straight to the point didn't really try to sell me the product just provided information regarding the product and answered questions I had accordingly. Which I was grateful for! He let me know that there would be about an 8-week fabrication Lead time which I was fine with. The windows did end up ready for installation within that time frame. Empire graciously set the installation date according to my schedule. And I can't rave enough about the three person team who came out and completed the install. Dave and his crew were on time, addressed my concern about placing down floor protection- which they had already anticipated. They were knowledgeable with the product and how to install the windows and the back patio door. Hard consistent workers, there was no downtime during the install. the framework after the bay window was removed was done very professionally and looks amazing. They answered my questions professionally and didn't make me feel stupid for asking very simple questions at times. I cant say enough about this crew, I hope they see this review and see how appreciative this single mom is. They cut no corners and provided exceptional install service that gives this mom a peace of mind! Plus they graciously accepted to take a photo in front of my new front windows!! Thanks Empire for the new windows and patio door!

The windows are not worth the price from the supplier that was used for one of my windows. Odd how…read moreonly 7 of 8 windows are still like brand new but one I consider defective and the supplier does not agree. Thing is on their letter to me they could not even identify the window properly so one has to wonder what they are even thinking of when their windows do not last 100 years or a lifetime! The one window does have defects and they denied a claim. I hope they at Empire Window Company do more than try to sell my mother a new window as they said they would look at the window for a fee but she and I declined their services and tried to check on the warranty thinking it might be more valid. I am only glad I and mother went with a new window company for the last 9 windows. They even mailed her a warranty paper as she requested! Better service from a new company! That is what happens when a shoddy window somehow gets past the supplier check points, they cost Empire Window Company a lot of money! I would have given Empire a 5 star if nothing had happened to the window but something did and explanation by their supplier from 2005 was very poor as I had sent at least 7 pics showing mother's proof of ownership and condition of window that I cleaned just as careful as all the rest including all the new ones. I used expensive soap and water on all windows and dry with microfiber materials that do not smear or scratch as brand new look is admired. I hope Empire gets better suppliers in future from anyplace on the planet!

John Talkington sat in his truck and surfed the internet the ENTIRE time. David cut my doors crooked, gauged the trim, used different hinges on the doors, did not measure properly before making cuts, hung the doors too far inward and some of them are so tightly hung in the jams that they bounce back when gently closed. He cut a brand new door with out measuring and I ended up buying a new door. I am left with alot of repairs. John didn't do final walkthrough. We paid the bill less $100.00 for "heartache". David did a cartwheel in my living room. He took breaks every 20 minutes. It took him 33 hours to hang 7 doors. He left screws all over my house and driveway. He banged one of the doors into my antique cabinet and also gauged places on my wall.

This is my review of Ron Holmes dba Avon Bay construction. I contracted with Ron in June of 2021…read moreto rebuild brick steps and to install a stamped concrete walkway. We were satisfied with his work on the steps. However, when he poured the concrete it rained. He should have known by the forecast that it was going to rain. He did not come prepared to protect the job. As a result the stamped concrete was terrible. The concrete was spalled in many places, it had pock marks from rain drops. Ron also tried to double stamp areas. We told him we were not satisfied and wanted it be ripped out and redone. His solution was to offer to do an overlayment. We did not feel that would last in Ohio winters and that it would fail. He then offered to redo if we paid him more money. He stopped communicating with us. I sued him in small claims court for the amount of money it cost us to hire another contractor. Ron never showed up to court. I presented my case including photos of the shoddy work and judgement was in my favor. Subsequently, Ron has ignored the courts request to show a financial statement and a motion to show in court. He currently has a Bench Warrant for his arrest in the City of Mentor. And I have learned that he has other warrants in the area. DO NOT HIRE HIM!
