I am ready to transfer all my savings (a not inconsiderable amount) to such a bank. Queenstown Bank advertises a 2 percent interest rate on one of their accounts. Today I called the bank to get details on this account. I called and, or course, reached the robot. The bank does NOT offer an option for general questions or for opening new accounts. Their three choices are for online issues, atm/debit card options, loans/mortgages, or OTHER. I kept choosing OTHER after being told I would be connected with an operator. Three times I was connected back to the robot. I called another time and this time chose LOANS/MORTGAGES. The nice lady that answered transferred me to OPERATIONS (operations???) after I told her I wanted to open a new account. I was put into Heather Smith's voicemail. I left a message saying that I had just had a very bad experience trying to reach someone and I thought I should find another bank. Within a few minutes I received a call from the bank. I was on another line and could not answer. When I listened to my voicemail it was a very loud slamming down of the phone. So...not only did they use my Caller ID to call me, but they did not have the courtesy to leave a proper message. Needless to say, I will NOT be doing business with Queenstown Bank.
