However, I can't recommend based on the overall experience. The workmanship was average, and more concerning, the final bill came in roughly 40% higher than originally quoted on what was a straightforward job with only a minor modification. There was also confusion around the original quote. I had specifically requested a GFCI outlet, but when he arrived, he indicated the quote only covered a GFCI and not the outlet itself, attributing the discrepancy to how it was entered through Yelp. Regardless of the source, that added to the overall lack of clarity on pricing. For context, the initial quote was already higher than other licensed electricians I had considered. In short: the job got done, but the combination of pricing inconsistency, unclear scope, and average workmanship makes it hard to recommend.

5 stars for professionalism and responsiveness…read more I reached out to Aaron's Electric Services and, unlike most contractors these days, he actually answered the phone both times I called and was straightforward and helpful in discussing the job. He ultimately passed on the work because he generally avoids mobile home projects, which I respect as those can be a Pandora's box. After a quick follow-up conversation, it became clear my home is actually a newer stick-built property, and he was open to reconsidering in the future. Even though we didn't end up working together this time, I appreciated the professionalism, honesty, and reasonable pricing discussed. Based on that alone, he'll be one of my first calls going forward.

Service was far from a ball on fire. Took an hour to take down the fan. Took another hour to put up the light crossbar and ask me if I bought the light online. I did. He shook his head and said the right screws weren't in the parts bag. Technician told me to go buy a couple different lengths of 10/32 screws and get some paint sticks (I assume since the ceiling is a bit bowed). I think an electrical company would have a variety of screws, shims, paint sticks in their truck inventory. I may be wrong. To save me money (!) he said he would leave and that I needed to specifically call Sharon, at the office, to make another appointment to finish the job after I got the parts he told me to buy. I got the requested parts, made another appointment for yesterday noonish. I had a 2:00pm appointment yesterday and I cancelled at 1:30pm as a technician hadn't shown up yet. I am paying $210 for taking a ceiling fan done. Invoice came today from McAtlin Electrical, Sam Nichols Electrical, Inc. Time to find a new electrician.

Less than an hour later, Don (the manager) was at my house to give me an estimate. I accepted what I felt was a very reasonable price and the service was scheduled for 6:00AM the next morning. Tim (the technician) arrived right on time this morning and did the work. He did the job quickly and did quality work. He even cleaned up after himself, sweeping up bits of insulation that had ended up on the garage floor when he cut the hole in the ceiling for the new outlet. Before calling this company, I had checked Yelp and found 4 electrical contractors near me, but none of them had any reviews. I picked McAtlin Electrical at random and was fortunate to stumble on a great company!
