Hesitant to use my mother's stylist, I googled and crossed my fingers for a salon progressive enough to actually have a website in this small, old-fashioned town. Luckily, Attractions turned up, and it happens to be just one block from where I work in the old downtown area! Since I have a strict work schedule, I hoped they would be flexible enough to fit me in before the end of the month, and they were able to schedule me within two days, and were subsequently nice enough to change my appointment time by half an hour when I called back with a new schedule conflict. I ended up going with Morgan, who was not only a sweetheart, but very efficient and gave me a fantastic new look for my profession. Initially scheduled an appointment for 11am. She changed the time to 10:30, to which I agreed. The day of the wedding, she changed the time to 11am, then to 12, then to 1pm, then to 1:20pm. At the final time change, it would have made me late to my own wedding. I told her I wanted my deposit back and I would just have a friend do my hair/make-up. She told me the deposit was nonrefundable and refused to refund my deposit. She then told me that she had been "flexible" and accommodating to me. She did not provide critical information and continually changed things until I could not keep the appointment. Then she kept my deposit and stated that I put her in a "tough position." To be honest, when you continually change the time of the appointment and then leave me where I have no hair/make-up on the day of my wedding, I feel that I'm the one left in a "tough position." Do not use her, or any salon that employs her. She is unreliable. Update: I spoke to the salon owner. She was very nice. I believe the actions were made by the individual alone, as she is an independent stylist there.

By the time she was done my hair was 2 inches shorter and barely covered my scalp in places. My hair was really uneven with longer parts in different areas. I headed over, which is about a 5 minute drive. When I arrived, one of the workers was helping a customer pay for his haircut. When she was finished, she took off to her chair. You are supposed to finish the check in process by having them acknowledge your check in at the register. They called a guy's name that was after me. She asked me who I was and I told her. I was actually next. I told the guy he could go before me, but he insisted I go. The lady that cut my hair informed me I didn't complete the check in process. I informed her that their workers need to be trained to acknowledge people when they walk in the door and finish the check in process. At least they could have asked if I was there before they proceeded to call the next person. Anyway, they keep your records so they ask you if you want the same haircut. It is $14 for a men's haircut, which I think is a little high for Lancaster. It used to be $12. You would think they would have chip readers for credit cards with the $2 increase.
