I've placed two orders and both have been ready on time which is of course important but also have been impeccably prepared and presented. Flavour has never been a let down, ever. My favourite has to be the classic baked cheesecake! The service is generally very good, extremely friendly and willing to work with you to achieve your desired results. An overall pleasure to deal with!

I usually buy them in half and half, since my bf and I are a big fan of cake desserts. Price is very good and reasonable. Everytime I've got friend's birthday I always buy a whole cake from this shop. It cost so much cheaper than Michale cake, breadtop, and other cakes places. Trust me! And they taste great too! I've seen in their website that they have many shop around Queensland. So it's worth check which one is your nearest store. Mine is this taringa-indoorppilly store. In this store, it's just a small shop for take away. No place for you to get a slice and having it there. But I've seen the one in Sunnybank, the shop actually has some seating for people who want to have it there. You also can order the cake in case they don't have the one you like in store. They sell candles, knifes and other cake birthday decoration. Highly recommended!

And when a bakery is independently owned you get a unique taste to their produce. St Lucia Bakery is a quiet little one, tucking into a bunch of shops at the Sir Fred Schonell and Mitre Street junction. It does not look like much from the outside. The white plastic tables and chairs are pretty dodgy but who really cares when you are only there for a few minutes to scoff down a pie or muffin. The muffins they sell are massive! They are a total meal in themselves and tasty as hell. Try their sandwiches and croissants as well if you have a chance. Family owned, this little local bakery is quite the treat and prides itself on its friendly service. You will leave this place with a smile guaranteed.

I enjoyed both the sausage meat roll and the feta spinach triangle but did not like the pastry pizza. The sauce was way too sweet, making it virtually inedible. The bacon cheese roll used some sort of cheese sauce that was too thin. I'd much rather have actual cheese in my roll rather than cheese sauce, which made the roll taste too much like it came from McDonald's or some other low quality fast food shop. That said, it is nice having a warm savory pastry for breakfast on the go and this shop satisfies that need.

The cafe is clean, very German feeling (I've never been to Germany, but I have a vivid imagination), and might I say should change its name to King of Pies. As you walk past the tables outside and the hat stand with newspapers (including German), the entrance presents itself to you with pies. There is a very classic pie list of plain steak, chicken and bacon pies, but my personal favourite at $5 is the Steak and Mushroom. The pie gives you no crap (literally) and is packed full of flavour with tender pieces of mouth watering steak and stewed mushrooms, you won't be disappointed. The crust is non-flakey and crispy and the pies are hot... I am a big fan and sometimes, find myself craving one... particularly from this bakery (it does not help that it is also on the way to work). Walking in a little bit more you can see the devilishly delightful window of assortments of pastries and cakes. Also delicious and very neatly spread out. In the fridge next to the pies you will find German jams and other assortments of German accompaniments and in the fridge next to the cashier on the far inner corner your drinks. There is seating on the inside too, but it is a nice change from the usual streetside cafe. This cafe is clean (sorry for repeating, but it's true) and cool and the cakes, pies and other tasty treats are fresh, gourmet and so Yelpingly tasty. I don't often offer my four stars to bakeries, but this one is my personal favourite. PS. All sandwiches are on Turkish bread - my personal favourite - Turkey and Cranberry. Don't buy the pies until after 7am... they are nice and hot then.

Not only do they have a wide variety of bread options and sweet baked treats, they usually have a discount table towards the afternoon. You can find all sorts of baked goods on the table as it varies from day to day. Many times I've picked up their scones at half price or sometimes even more than half price. I have taken home bags of cookies at a fraction of the cost or loaves of bread heavily discounted. When I am planning on having guest over in the afternoon, I duck out quickly to see the specials. I know, sounds a bit sad, but it is a part of my grocery run and they do have hard to resist specials a lot of the time. Clearly, I get bread here a lot! The service here is wonderful. The ladies behind the counter are very patient with me. I like to take my time in choosing my cakes and baked goodies. I like planning on when and what I will be consuming during the week. Sometimes they might even pop in a suggestion- I think it may be a ploy to rush me, but I still very much appreciate it. Great little bakery in Jindalee with great value for money options.

I once called in just to get a quiche which is ridiculous because that's probably the last thing this business is known for (it was amazing for your information), and walked out with 3 slices of cake, 3 Banoffe pies and 4 tarts. I took half of them home and the other half to Uni with me and before I could even explain to everyone what they were, they were gone. The Welsh Lady is a deceptive temptress who lures you in with her unassuming shop front, tucked away in Rosalie and STEALS YOUR WALLET AND YOUR WAISTLINE! Eventually returning both, one thinner, the other thicker (I'll let you guess which is which). Everything they bake here makes you want to quit life and die from a decadent, gluttonous overdose of sugary wonderment. Specializing in cakes to order they have everything you can imagine and more. Words can't do this place justice, so if you are wanting the perfect wedding or birthday cake, or simply just something sweet for any type of celebration The Welsh Lady should be your first port of call. P.S The Banoffe pies are out of this world, go now and get yourself one before they are deemed illegal.

Personally, I fall into the vanilla cake category but the Welsh Lady is the only cake shop that has the ability to make me question my allegiance to Team Vanilla. If you're a fan of chocolate cake, the muddier, richer, and more decadent the better, then the Welsh Lady is your holy grail. Her deep, dark mud cakes are so moist and dense that it's almost like she's mixed dark chocolate mousse into the batter. Most of my friends fall into Team Chocolate and I've become very used to being served a piece of chocolate birthday cake at parties and leaving it on the plate half finished. A couple of years ago at a dear friend's 21st I watched the cake be presented with a flourish. Chocolate again, I thought. I had to admit that it was a beautiful looking cake, covered in huge, elaborate chocolate curls and sprouting sparkly butterflies and stars on silver stems but I didn't expect my tastebuds to enjoy it as much as my eyes were. After one bite of the cake I knew there'd be no half-eaten leftovers on my plate this time. Through a mouthful of mud cake I demanded to know where my friend had gotten such a cake. 'MULSH NADY' she replied, her mouth was just as full as mine. 'Huh?'. She swallowed her chocolate-y mouthful and said 'Welsh Lady'. I nodded, swallowed, and went back for seconds.
