First time I've ever had my car detailed. I was shocked and amazed at the final result. My SUV is 10 years old and it looked new when I picked it up! The seats were bright and clean again, no dog hair stuck in the fabric, the console was sleek and shiny, the windows were spotless and the carpet looked cleaner than it did when I bought the car! The exterior was sparkley, my tires were shiny, years of hauling stuff in my trunk were erased. I forgot my car was "pearl" colored b/c it was always so dirty! Kevin was kind, professional, friendly and efficient. After I got home, I noticed scratches on my back window tint. I went back and talked to Kevin the next day. I'm not a complainer by nature so I was worried I would offend him. Not at all - Kevin was receptive without being defensive. He said he only used microfiber towels on the windows and suggested maybe I had cargo in the back that scratched it. I didn't think so but thanked him for doing such a great job on my car and left. Halfway home I realized he was probably right - I had gone to the lake the weekend prior and realized my cooler likely rolled against the glass and scratched the tint! Wow, that's all I kept saying when I picked up my Nissan Maxima after an exterior detail! I told him that it looked better than when I bought it (which was 40k miles ago). Scratches were buffed out, paint was shiny, and the windshield was crystal clear (it had a foggy build up on it from the cleaners that I had been using). This isn't a super fancy, big operation. Just a small shop in downtown Denton. That's OK though....fancy places charge more! It's the work and results that count! I can't wait to treat myself to a full interior and exterior detailing. Took my SUV in to get detailed by this wonderful place! The light gray seats had years of dirt and stains and the back hatch area was COVERED in white dog hair. I was shocked when I picked up the vehicle. It was like being in a new car. The attention to detail surpassed my expectation. They even cleaned the engine under the hood and made it look brand new. 95% of the dog hair is GONE from the back, and EVERY stain was removed from the seats. I dropped my car off at 830am to the owner. He said to pick it up at 3. When I came in to inspect it and noticed that there was wax on the molding/taillight of my car because he didn't tape it off at all and bugs on my front end still . I noticed other scratches on my car that didn't look like he had given much detail and mentioned it, he then got upset and said "this pisses me off" as he walked in the back to get the stuff to fix this. I said this pisses me off also, he then came back and got in my face asking me to repeat what I said. I said that I wasn't satisfied and I wanted him to fix it, he handed me my key and said hop in that mother****** and get out of here in a threatening way. I would avoid this place like the plague. I have been looking for a competent auto detailer in Denton for a little over a year. Someone with experience, the right detailing products and most importantly someone that knows specifically what kind of care a BLACK car needs. I decided to take a chance with Kevin (the owner of Shine It!) and I stopped in to talk about detailing my 2008 Jet black BMW M3. This car is my baby, with only 20k miles on the clock it was basically new, but the years had not been kind to the paint. Swirl marks show horribly on black cars and by this point the paint looked dull, scratched and frankly not befitting of such a beautiful automobile. I feel like I grilled him pretty good about how he operates and he didn't hesitate to answer any of my questions. He uses a good detailing procedure, and quality Meguairs products, along with some waxes that can't be store bought for long lasting paint protection. Kevin is a stand up guy that takes pride in his work and it shows. I left my car with him at 8am to get a full detail. Exterior required a wash, then a rubbing compound / clay bar to remove contaminates, a polish/sealant, and a final coat of wax to seal everything in and keep it shiny for a long time. The interior included cleaning everything, applying protectants to all the plastic parts of the interior and then cleaning and conditioning the leather seats, and then a deep clean on the carpets. The whole process took about 5 hours, but that is to be expected for the amount of work that goes into it. When I picked the car up I couldn't believe the transformation. I know its been 4 years since it was purchased but I honestly believe it looked better than the day I bought it. The exterior had a beautiful shine and even under direct sunlight I couldn't see a single swirl or scratch mark. Excess wax was was cleaned from around the hood and bumper. Good attention to detail. The inside smelled fresh and clean but not overwhelming, the products he used brought out the natural leather smells of the seats (which I love!). There's nothing worse than having your car detailed and you get in and it smells like a dollar store "smooth breeze" christmas tree air freshner that's been sitting in the sun all day. I like my car to smell clean not perfumed. The seats went from shiny and well used back to their original matte color. The conditioner he used wasn't greasy, didn't rub off on my clothes, and didn't make leather fart noises when I slid into the seat. Just clean and conditioned, they way it should be. Kevins prices are definitely higher than the $4 car wash but you get what you pay for. If you care about the way your car looks, and want it to keep looking good for many years to come it's worth the premium. Compared with detailers in the D/FW area, his prices are much lower and is quality of work is as good, if not better. Forget Heritage Car Wash, Forget Lonestar Car Wash ... if you want a quality detail go see Kevin. read more

Kevin Jones completely exceeded my expectations. I had a small Honda Fit that was run through the wringer for the last 5 years...He delivered on what he promised...the car was "dealership ready." What impressed me the most was the attention to detail, dashboard cleaned, windows, carpet, and the engine was steam cleaned like new. Very reasonable cost to do all of the above.
