The rollers in the car wash where my vehicle was positioned were not functioning, so my car was completely stationary. Because of this malfunction, the vehicle behind me--driven by an elderly driver--collided with my car and damaged my rear bumper. Rather than offering an apology, a solution, or even a refund, the manager dismissed the situation by telling me it was simply "an unlucky day" for me and instructed me to contact ICBC regarding the damage. Shine Auto Wash was a pretty decent car wash location. It's priced in about the same range as other car washes around Vancouver, but you have to pay for a vacuum token which I think is odd. My car was incredibly dirty before going through, and I got their mid range was just to get some of the bad stuff off. It actually got much more done than I was expecting, considering how dirty my car was to begin with! Things to note: there was still some soap on my car after leaving, so I did have to get out and wipe that off with a cloth. And this is a touch car wash! No scratches on my car, it definitely only touched lightly, but something to keep in mind. I'll most likely return, as it's in a really accessible area for me. This review is written with the following considerations: - I knew ahead of time that this was an automated car wash, knowing that machines will use materials and force that will never be as gentle as a human washing the car by hand (and without pressure sprayers). - I came only because my boss (a two year old who looks like me) asked for it since he loves going through automated car washes that he can watch from his car seat :) - We drove a used, white, Mercedes B200 (with non-foldable mirrors), that was medium-dirty upfront and lightly-dirty in the back. With that in mind, I found the experience to be not perfect but quite alright: - Two drive-thru terminals are available, so wait times aren't long. - Touchscreen ordering was intuitive and you can quickly tap your credit card for payment. (They also appear to offer subscriptions with RFID tags.) - Four levels of wash are available; all prices include tax. - We chose the top Platinum wash for $19 only because it presumably had the most stuff for baby to see go onto the car :) - A single attendant guides you onto the conveyor belt (note: there was not any brushing or washing of your car by that attendant, unlike many places in the US). - The process was relatively quick and easy! So it wasn't perfect in that the heavy brake dust on the wheels upfront were only mostly cleaned off. The sprayers and dryers seemed (much?) stronger force-wise compared to the ones in Hawaii we've used, but the aforementioned side mirrors stayed on and I could not find any scratches. Terrible customer service. I come here almost every week to have my jeep washed and the machine always does a great job including rinsing and drying. Today I noticed right after going through there was still soap all over the jeep, mainly the front and back and no part of the jeep was dried, It literally looked like it just went through a rainstorm. Obviously their machine had an issue, but after speaking with the manager, not only did he blow me off, he said the problem was the way my jeep was designed doesn't let the machine work properly (I pointed out to him I get it washed regularly and this is the first time this has happened) what a joke. I take my car through here about once every couple of weeks. My car sparkles! I like how it's a touch screen to choose, don't have to talk to anyone and it's fast and easy. The vacuum stations, there are at least a dozen at Terminal - all work well. The whole set up is excellent and very clean, with large Rubbish bins and ample space to work all around the car. Getting Vaccum tokens is easy - either while paying for the car wash or in the building. I'm a happy regular customer. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Over $600 of damage to my car and they REFUSE all responsibility! I have a newer model 2020 car with no accidents and a lower rear panel was blown off and destroyed in the car wash. We reviewed both video evidence from Shine and from my own home showing no damage or loose panels entering the car wash. Despite this, they say it's impossible to damage the car even though this is NOT a "touchless" car wash. Clearly the carwash loosened the panel before it being ripped off but they say it's so rare that this is not possible and they refuse to take any responsibility. I even tried to be reasonable and offered 50/50 split on cost as I don't think it's fair that I have to pay the entire bill. They continue to deny deny deny. Absolutely horrible way to run a business. You have been warned, ANY damage to your car from Shine (big or small) and they will deny all responsibility even if your car is in pristine condition going into the wash. I purchased a brand new vehicle recently and took it to Shine Auto Wash on Terminal this afternoon. There was no damages going into the wash immediately coming out I noticed my windshield was damaged on the drivers side during the car wash. I went to the office to inform the manger and he was extremely rude, dismissive and in denial. He said it's impossible for the car wash to crack a windshield and had every excuse in the book yet if it happened to mine it's clearly not impossible. The guy said it is their "policy" which he just made up on the spot. No cherry blossom policy is stated anywhere. He refused to help. When asked what is the solution, he said vacuum them off. Used on Sat evening and no lineup. Drive in the entrance and the machine where you pay was intuitive and easy to pick options from. Takes credit, debit and gift cards (I guess they have them available somewhere). Basic wash is very reasonable for less than $10 but got the platinum for ~$18 as hadn't washed the suv in a few months. Came out looking great. Only part not perfectly clean was the inch around the rear license plate which is pretty recessed so totally understandable. Will return! read more

I drive a 2015 subaru outback. My car was dirty after coming back from snowboarding. So I take it to the car wash right. So I went to Shine Auto by Woolridge and rolled up to pay for Gold package. My subaru doesn't come out clean. It has a dirty rear end. I don't know about anyone else but a dirty rear end is a negative for me. I talk with the service guys to see if they have a pressure washer hose...nope. Manager and service guys both give me what seems like a script about the how their machines can't handle the sexy curves on my subaru. You guys are exterior car wash professionals and if cars are coming out dirty you should fix it. I dont know of any other service that can get away with this. When I got to Shine 2 attendants refused me service due to the slightly bent bumper on the front of my Jeep. The bumper is not dislodged and ready to fall off, it's just bent a bit. But I was told that they don't allow cars that have been in accidents in the car wash in case the damaged car damaged their machines. What accident? I have a slightly bent bumper. These 2 attendants were abrupt and treated me like I wasn't welcome and had some sort of dilapidated vehicle. Car shaming... that's a new one!!! I guess if you have a perfect vehicle then they will take your business, but if you have a less than perfect car you'll have to go elsewhere. read more

I took my previous car here for a clean when I was trying to sell it and I noticed afterwards that my car seemed to have a lot of little scratches all over it that I hadn't noticed before (and unfortunately they were obvious enough that the new buyers used them as leverage to lower their offer). I couldn't be sure it was from the car wash though since, although I hadn't noticed them before, I hadn't done a check right before washing to know if that was the reason or if maybe the scratches were just somehow less visible when the car wasn't as clean. I then went back with my new car after the cherry blossom trees threw up all over it. The pink flowers are lovely, but if you don't actually get them off within a few days they'll dry on the car and not just easily brush off (I live downtown so I don't actually drive that much). So I figured hey, if this car wash might have been strong enough to scratch my previous car it's gotta be good for scraping off dead pedals! (Great logic, I know.) I went through the wash and to my surprise most of the pedals were still on the car. Any loose parts of the flowers were gone, but the rest remained. I went into their office to ask if I could go through again, but was told no. There were no redos and no refunds. Umm... excuse me? I paid for my car to be washed so I think if some flower pedals are still on my car your answer should be "absolutely, let's do it again, our apologies" as opposed to just telling me to be on my way. So I ended up grabbing a sponge and a hose in a parkade to take care of it myself and guess what - they came off with very little effort. The pressure of the hose got most of it off just with that alone, and then the sponge helped with any remaining little bits. No soap even needed. So someone please tell me how it was worth spending $8 to have their system (which possibly manages to scratch some cars) provide worse results than just a hose did for free. Also worth noting is that their sign looks like it says $7, but in fact has a .42 plus GST in very small print next to it, so it's actually $8 (for the lowest basic wash). Not a big deal, but just adds to the shadiness of this whole operation if you ask me. read more

I've been previously impressed with Shine. Yesterday my car was in desperate need of a wash, and unfortunately it did not come out clean. Specifically the hood, windshield and roof still had the dried dusty kind of residue (and parts of bird poo) that you would expect to be gone from a touch wash. The kind where you can swab dust off with your finger. I'd expect more from their most expensive deluxe triple foam wash. No prob right? I've had that happen at other washes before, and in most cases the attendant will put you through again. Not here. The attending manager told me I should hand wash my own car. If we all did that when our cars are dirty he'd be counting olives at Subway. Wow, way to stand behind your product. No offer of a refund or another attempt to get my car clean.
