After spending the day exploring, we worked up an appetite and stumbled across ICHI Hibachi. Let me tell you they understood the assignment! Back home, we've been to our fair share of hibachi restaurants where somehow the bill is huge, but the portions are tiny and you're wondering if you should stop for a burger afterward. Not here. For me, their 2- and 3-maki lunch specials are a great value (& priced slightly better than another sushi place nearby), and I loved the combination of good prices and generous portions. The shrimp tempura roll was so generously sized that I was honestly a little jealous of my kiddo's plate. The crispy rice topped with spicy tuna was another favorite: deep-fried rice topped with spicy tuna, jalapeño, eel sauce, and hot sauce. Crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. Did I mention it's spicy? You've been warned but no worries - it's the kind of kick that keeps you going back for another bite because it's just that yummy. The chicken karaage was another winner for us basically the Japanese version of chicken poppers but more flavorful because it's marinated & dipped in spicy mayo. It was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tasty. We probably could've ordered another round. The mochi ice cream was a refreshing end to our meal. TIP: they also have awesome party tray specials posted near the entrance: $5 maki rolls (8-roll minimum) and $11 specialty rolls (4-roll minimum), which is a great way to satisfy any sushi cravings. See pictures for applicable rolls for each party tray. I personally would have ordered that party tray the night before if I knew about that deal 24 hours prior - we were just in the same shopping plaza at the Publix and 7Brew! Overall, Kiwami is definitely worth checking out. The food came out fresh and flavorful, portions were spot on, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. Prices were fair, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. 100% recommend trying them out if you haven't been here yet.
