We came to Quincy from Chicago for a family funeral. Our Forester's windshield was plastered with…read moreinsects from the drive so bad I had trouble seeing through it. I used Yelp to find a car wash place and drove over to Water Works to discover that it was a detailing shop and I had to make an appointment for a day or two in advance. I asked the owner if he could recommend a place nearby that I could go to right away explaining we had just come from the funeral service at St. Francis. He told me to nose our car into the packed garage and he would clean off the windshield and front of our SUV with his high power spray hose and solvent spray. That he did and then he had one of his employees come over to help wipe down the car. When they were done I was going to give him 20 bucks thinking that was fair recompense. He turned down the offer saying that due to Covid and family illnesses he had lost a number of his relatives over the past two years and that he understood what we were going through. He told us we didn't have to pay! I thanked him gratefully and we drove way with a clean windshield and front end completely impressed by the owner's humanity and generosity!

We are talking, seats removed and carpet taken out, a big job. And they did great. I'll be taking my vehicles there from now on. I highly recommend Water Works.

The scratches appeared to be from the rotation brush that apparently bounced off the hood some way. I reported the damage and the manager was more in the defensive mood than to try to find out what happened. He said he had pictures of me interring and leaving the car wash with no damage, but there was damage when I got home. The only pictures the manager showered me was a video where you couldn't tell the color or make of the car, let alone if there was any damage.

I was allowed to pull in and detail my car as the full service lane wasn't ready yet. He even gave me tips to get the most out of the sprayer and soap options.
