We recently switched schools so my daughter could focus on her passion - contemporary. In 11 years…read moreof dancing this was by far the worst experience we've had at a studio. I will say, they did condition the students well and with how much they are in the studio, she learned a lot but the lack of professionalism as a business and the toxic environment took away from that. Their communication is HORRIBLE! You can try email, leaving messages with the secretary, voicemails, texts or even on their band app. But it is EXTREMELY difficult to get a hold of any of the owners. The room mom was wonderful but obviously there were issues and questions that I needed addressed w the owners themselves. Disorganized. I was never on their email list and missed the first meeting and then was never put on their Google calendar list which I later found out 2 months later and took me 2 attempts to even get on that once I found that out on my own. So that ultimately put us behind being new. Also watch ALL their fees. I recommend asking them specifically about all of them. The handbook does not even give you a range. In fact they wanted to charge us $175 choreographer fee for a dance they taught LAST YEAR by an in-house teacher. The handbook says choreographer fees are in place for people they have to hire outside the studio. I finally talked to pricsilla one of the owners and we had an in depth conversation about recent, more pressing issues my daughter was having. One of them being mocked by one major girl and the others joining in. She stated they have had "multiple issues" w that student. So bullying clearly an issue as the secretary stated her daughter was also coming out of classes lately crying. So she said she'd bring it up. Ultimately my daughter chose to leave because she felt very uncomfortable w the gossiping inc from teachers in class and being mocked from other girls in class. We paid the whole year and she said we would be refunded for the time left. When the time came (had to again hunt them down to even get my partial refund) they only partially refunded me. Took another week to even get ahold of someone. Sam the other owner stated that according to their records we *owe them money and everything that pricsilla, her mom - told me over the phone was no longer the case. It's been a month and I'm still waiting on the documentation they were supposed to send me. I've put in for small claims court and willing to mediate but unlikely. *** if you are thinking of going here I suggest taking your time on registration day despite them only giving out 15 min slots. Make sure they make copies of what you signed and that it matches the handbook! Ask specific questions on ALL the fees. Ask them for the handbook first!!!!! (I didn't get mine till 2 weeks after starting). Read it carefully and ask specific questions BEFORE registering. Make sure they have you on all their apps and email lists and make sure they do. I've never heard my daughter say this but she told me the day we left "I feel like that studio was toxic and bad for my mental health. It saddened me greatly that she felt that way. Especially involving something she loves. In the end my daughter went back to her old studio where she is back to loving dance and feeling like she's back to being a part of a team even if she's not in contemporary this year.
