I met Michelle GIttings, the Lead Aesthetic Physician Assistant and within 30 minutes arranged a treatment plan of Neograft followed by a PRP treatment. I was pleasantly surprised by the innovate "State of the Art" and latest advancements offered. In addition, my consultation was not a "Hard Sell Sales Pitch" it was establishing a trust and listening to what I was looking for. Plastic Surgery is a medical procedure and not a sales pitch. Before meeting Michelle, I went through the painstaking search for the latest approaches, spoke to sales people in Turkey and call centers that were not even medical professionals. She explained to me an elected procedure that an important decision that was very personal and important to me. I have also come in for concerns regarding irritated piercings and most recently for my yearly skin cancer screening. Dr. Zahir was the provider for my piercing concern as well as for my annual skin cancer screening. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions and gave me recommendations on how to approach my irritated piercing, and I was really happy with the service. He provided thorough screening for my annual skin cancer screening and also answered a lot of my questions with great detail. I really appreciated the thorough service because I have seen a couple dermatologists previously when I was traveling, and I felt they were not nearly as thorough as he was. I spend a lot of time outdoors and under the sun, so it's really imperative that the provider is very thorough in case there are questionable changes or growths! Prevention and early detection are key! They have 3 offices in the area: Ashburn, Purcellville and Winchester. I believe the providers rotate their time in a couple, or all 3, of the offices, so you may be able to see them in the different locations. They also used to not have providers available for Wednesday in the Ashburn location, but they have recently opened up a couple hours and I was able to visit during a day off on a Wednesday, very convenient! Overall, I'm very much satisfied with the services I've received and will continue to come back for future concerns or preventatives.

The best part? Tricare Prime insurance covers so these thousands of dollars procedures cost me nothing! I consulted with 3 other plastic surgeons in the area all of them charged a min $150/consultation visit and $500-900/mole removal. In my case since we are Prime, I just needed to get a referral from my primary doctor, then everything from the initial consultation to all of the moles removal and follow up were covered fully. Sometimes you'd associate "free" to something that is "less" than paying thousands, nope, not in this case. BEWARE of undisclosed billing practices. I have been going here for several years and the…read morepractitioners have been great. However, at a recent visit, they took some tissue samples to send off to the lab. I paid my $75 specialist copay at the time of the visit but later got another bill for another $75 specialist copay for the dermotology clinic, "The Dermatology Group", that they sent the tissue samples to. Keep in mind, copays do not get applied to your deductible. This is an important distinction. I have had tissue biopsies done at this practice before and was not charged another $75 copay from another dermotology group who ran the tests. Semler also did not tell me at the time of the visit that I could possibly get another bill for the tissue tests from another derm clinic. That is unacceptable in my opinion. They should inform patients if they have started to send these off to another derm clinic that will also be charging a copay as if you had an office visit with them as well. I have had several labs, etc. ordered by various docs and did not pay another specialist copay (again which does not count toward the deductible). At times I have paid a little more for the tests if insurance did not cover all of it, but those payments DO count toward the deductible. This is a copay as if I visited this separate clinic.

I agreed to the appointment and time, and I believe it. My experience has been that after seeing the NP, I was told that I would have to see the MD and make an appointment. My only disappointment has to do with not receiving samples that I was promised. I highly recommend Advanced Dermotology.
