Today is already the last day of the pickup window, and I still have no clear update on whether my car will actually be picked up. I emailed them multiple times, but the responses were vague, generic, and provided no useful information or concrete timeline. What made the experience even worse is that there was essentially no way to reach a real person by phone -- the calls were automatically cut off instead of connecting to customer service. Instead of proactive communication, I was left chasing updates myself and making backup plans because I could not rely on them. In mid-January 2026, I purchased a brand new 2024 Fiat 500e from a dealership in Wisconsin and needed it shipped to me in Southern California. After an extensive deep dive into the world of auto transportation on the internet, I decided to go with Sherpa Auto Transport for my vehicle transportation needs. I initially communicated with Steve from Sherpa Auto Transport via email and then over the phone. Steve and the entire Sherpa staff were very professional throughout the entire process. Since Sherpa is a fully licensed broker, they connected me to a trucking company named Your Car Provider Inc (US DOT 3466676). That company provided me with an updated when the vehicle was picked up and then provided me with an estimated delivery date. Then, the day before the delivery, the driver from that company reach out to me when he about 2 hours away from my home. The whole drop off process was super smooth. The driver unloaded my car and parked it right on my driveway. He performed his inspection of the car by taking photos all around the exterior of the car. And then finally, I was provided 100% digital Bill of Laden (BoL). The whole process was unbelievably smooth even though it's the very first time I've ever purchased (and then shipped) a vehicle from outside California. Instead, it took 11 days with constant delays, excuses, and zero professionalism. He drove about 300 miles a day and took 8 days to cross the country after giving a 4-7 day estimate, then kept me waiting until 10:30pm. In fact I missed a flight and had to book for the next day. The driver drove right past me in Santa Clara to deliver to SF first, even though it kept me waiting an additional five hours. They gave us a window of 5 days and we are on day 4 and still no one has yet gotten back to us We called their customer service many times and they are always busy so we had to send then an email. Their response is very generic "we haven't found an assigned driver yet" This has ruined our plans and the only reason we went with Sherpa was becaseu it's BBB certified. Very disappointed with their service and I will not recommend to anyone Addendum - an hour after I wrote this review, to my surprise, we recieved a call from their lead. Everything went really well. My only complaint is that they can deliver the car at 11:30 at night. My driver was very kind. And I felt bad for him because not only did he have to deliver it at 11:30 to a grumpy person, but he also had to deliver it at 11:30 to a neighborhood that is a mile beyond the local amphitheater and they had a concert that night so he was done he was stuck on a hill in stop and go traffic. That wasn't anything we could really avoid and I didn't even think of it when we were planning. But if they weren't allowed to come after 10 PM, he would've been perfectly fine because the concert was going at 10 PM and nobody was leaving yet. Other than that, everything was great! read more

Ryan McNeill, the alleged owner (who is actually just a General Manager) of Sherpa Auto Transport, is a disgusting human being. I used Sherpa in 2023 w/some issues but nothing too crazy. The supervisor, Stu, handled everything and was great. So I decided to use them again to ship my car. The first carrier Sherpa sent to me, the driver called me several slurs and cancelled on the spot. I reached out to Sherpa's executive leadership team. Ryan responded but he didn't seem too bothered that I was called slurs, which speaks to his character. He found another carrier that had 2.7 stars on Yelp. The low rating was specifically for rude drivers and damaging folks' cars and not taking responsibility. I noted this via email and Ryan assured me this is the carrier he'd use if he was shopping his own car. He said he has a great relationship with this carrier and has shipped over 800 vehicles with them. That also speaks volumes considering the reputation this carrier has. Sure enough, my car was damaged. The driver "J" was belligerent as I was documenting and photographing the damage. He sat in my car for 30-45 minutes and refused to exit. He tried to pull off in my car and actually punched my arm. Keep in mind I'm 5 ft and petite. I had to call the police for them to make him get out of my car. Sherpa is now refusing to process my claim or speak to me regarding the claim. He sicced his attorney on me like I was supposed to be scared or intimidated. Standard claims processes for damages does not require legal counsel. I'm absolutely being treated this way because I'm a Black woman. It's fine because I'll sue and win. The damage and evidence is air tight. But I shouldn't have to do all this for a simple claim. I absolutely recommend not using Sherpa Auto Transport. read more

Just received our 2026 Mercedes Benz yesterday so this review is fresh in my mind. I made the mistake of signing up online for general transport carrier quotes. Holy cow, I must have received well over 3 dozen calls, texts, emails etc. from so many brokers that guaranteed me the world. I muddled through all of them and decided after checking out their reviews and BBB ratings, to go with Sherpa Auto Transport. Not only did they guarantee my price, they had to pitch in a little toward the carrier cost to get my car to me. The claimed they have 90% success rate in finding reputable carriers and I believe them. The window to find one was 5 days and after 1 day they had a carrier assigned. NOW, I would highly suggest that anyone who is having an expensive car, whether its a collectors, antique or brand new luxury vehicle like I bought, to do their due diligence on the carrier that is assigned. Its so easy now with AI. I did the research and found some questionable facts on the carrier assigned, they did not currently have cargo insurance and had some really negative reviews. I did not want this carrier to handle my transport so I notified Sherpa and they took this very seriously and immediately cancelled this carrier for me. Within 24 hours, they had assigned another which has handled over 100 of their transports and has a good reputation. My car was picked up on Jan. 28 and delivery window was Jan. 30 to Feb 2. On Feb 2, the carrier claimed their truck had some minor issues and they couldn't deliver as scheduled. I phoned Sherpa and they kept in continual communication with me all through this delay and the car actually arrived last night Feb 4, in its enclosed carrier, under a protective car cover in perfect shape. My point is the there is only so much control that brokers have once they assign a carrier, they try to continually investigate their carrier list but some slip through the cracks. Sherpa impressed me with not only guaranteeing the price, but absolutely no bait and switch tactics that so many brokers are known for. What they said was what they did and so much more. I wish I had just found Sherpa before I had to field through all the broker inquiries that I got. I had a very bad experience with Sherpa. I signed up with them on April 1st to transport our two cars from Florida to Ohio. I started enquiring Monday (May 4th) about when would they pick up our cars as we were flying home on in 6 days. They had created a 6 day window to ship. i also enquired two more times this week and was told that they had interest from a carrier, and the last time yesterday was told not to worry they would get a carrier. Today I talked to the customer service manager and he told me realistically they probably would not be able to find a carrier before tomorrow (May 9th), which is the day before we were to fly home. This required us to completely change our plans and drive one of the cars about 1200 miles home. My wife and I are 77 & 80. I appreciate the fact that it may have been difficult to find a carrier but to keep stringing me along instead of being honest about the chances to find a carrier, we could possibly had made alternate plans with another broker.
