What an absolutely delightful hotel…read more I stay in many hotels with work, mainly chains, which results in sterile, perfunctory places - all clean, comfortable and meet minimum needs. Not this hotel, it has charm, comfort with invested staff. The rooms are large and comfortable. The staff friendly and established at the hotel. The food is simply wonderful. Breakfasts are cooked to order, not simply pickings from a hot buffet, with each item locally sourced. I can say, without reservation, that my cooked full English breakfast this morning was the best I've ever had ( and trust me I've had a few). The lounge is comfortable and inviting and there's free wifi running throughout the hotel. Come visit, if you find yourself in the middle of nowhere!

Despite the bath rooms and toilets being in a very good condition and upkeep, it can still be frustrating to have to parade the hallway in one's towel. The design of the rooms is very pleasant, and fresh. Rooms are a little on the compact side. Breakfast is a very positive part of the experience with a choice of hearty full english, or high quality local cereal, local butter and bread. Having a popular local pub downstairs is also a big bonus, as they serve great food and drinks all evening. Noise was not an issue for us.
