Eric's quote to paint an entire 3/1 from baseboards to removing popcorn ceiling and refinishing and painting it was great! The best by far we had gotten. Eric also had good availability and was able to start (earlier) than planned. Eric did an excellent job communicating with me throughout the project and even finished the project ahead of time. For my complaints. This is probably on me, but I think I went into the project expecting better quality than what I got. However, looking back now, I think it's fair to say I got for what I paid for. The quality of the paint and the job is not the best. We had to call back Eric a couple of times after the project was finished to fix missed spots or clean up missed areas. Although I am happy and appreciative that he did come back to fix these issues, I'd prefer it be done right the first time. Let me be clear, the house looks much better than it did before, so it was worth the money I paid, however, I'd say that don't go in with really high expectations as I did. If you're needing an "ok" job and are on a tight budget, Eric is a good pick.

I get it. Interior house painting is, if done right, at best a meticulous process. Below are a few…read moreof my observations of John's Painting and Construction. The project was bid as a five day project. Reality was it could have been done in four days. At the onset I will say John and Zander are great guys who seem to be serious about succeeding in their business. That said, I hope this helps. Bidding: 5 I got multiple bids but the thing that impressed me most was their approach to the process. They walked in with pencil and pad but rather than take notes they first literally drew out the areas that needed repair. Then they took measurements and notes. I felt like they left that process knowing exactly what was needed for this project. Communication: 4 They did well describing each step of the process and for that part I would score them at 5. However, although they would contact me to tell me they were on their way and maybe what stops they had on their way, the gap of time from initial contact and arrival seemed unordinary. More on that below. Arrival times: 3.75 Arrival times were all over the place with the 4th day (paint day) being the most out of whack (11 AM arrival). The reasoning was they had to pick up paint and connect with another customer. My thinking was the paint should have already been in their hands by this point in the project and this is the primary reason for the lower grade. My point is they should want to get as early of a start as possible each day and especially "paint day" to mitigate the issues that caused them to have to come back for a fifth day. Prep work: 4 This obviously is the longest and messiest part of the project. Originally we were left with the impression that furniture would not be in the way (communication) so we assumed they would move it around as necessary. After the first day we emptied the areas completely to ensure our furniture did not get completely covered in dust. I wish we had emptied our book shelves too. The residual dust from moving supplies and drop cloths in and out each day contributed to lots of dust and some frustration. The texture spray on was also a point of frustration because some of the spray landed in areas where it should not have . It'll come off but will be extra and messy work for us. Repair work: 5 They did a great job repairing the tape work on the ceiling and walls which was the primary reason for the project. Definitely a 5 for this. Painting: 4.5 I suppose this could change in a few days post-project but as I see it now, the ceilings and walls look fantastic. Overall grade: 4.5 Oh, my living room ceiling peaked at 18 feet.
