My emails to him were often ignored and I had to repeatedly followup with him to get him to respond - often weeks going by and no reply. Each time it was the same excuse "I was in court". I understand that our job was small compared to some of his other clients but we could have at least received the courtesy of a response - saying I'll get back to you Xxxx. Although he did finish our agreement it was later than originally agreed upon and we have not received any invoice at all. The $2500 was a retainer, not a flat fee. I expected to receive monthly billing statements as I have with every other attorney I have hired in the past. Not have him take all of the money without any explanation at all. It has now been 3 months since he took our money and I have yet to hear from him with an itemized bill showing his time and charges. We feel robed. At the end of the process, Leah finally addressed all the lies but blew it off by saying "what difference does that make in the end?" The difference that it makes is that it cost me a ton of money to defend myself with the constant lies and manipulations of my ex, as well as the fact that we have a standard in the court system. One cannot just completely disregard a judge's orders without consequence. But from what I understand this is a very pro-female state which doesn't surprise me because Leah is a female. So it appears there will be no ramifications and I just have to suck it up that I spent a ton of money to allow my ex to play God and overrule the judge's orders.

At that time he informed me that our cost for the case would not exceed the retainer we paid him We have a case that is still ongoing that is not a family law case. It wasn't until he started his own company we started to notice a shift. Several calls would go out with fails on his end to return said calls. Then he would finally answer and state "oh hey I was just getting ready to call you"! Yeah ok. We went through months of stuff we had to do to get ready to go into calendar and right before we were supposed to go on calendar, he calls and says he made a mistake and forgot to have me go though a state evaluation that was required for this case. It set us back over a year. After we got everything done, once again it's was a drawn out head ache. Countless unreturned phone calls. I finally asked if this had anything to do with our agreement of paid in full and he reassured me it wasn't, however we were starting to feel that he had other better paying clients and we were put on the back burner. After we submitted a form we had been waiting for, he instructed us to drop it off to his location. I didn't hear anything for several weeks and finally reached out yet again and he said he never received the paperwork I dropped off. He asked where we dropped it off at and I told him his front desk. He insisted I had the wrong office, however I'm quite sure it was the correct one as anyone knows his office it's hard to confuse it with anyone else's since his business cards are there, and his law firm name is not only at the door but also on the wall. The receptionist took my form and let me know he was in a meeting. I started to receive emails stating I owe money for services and I called to enquire about them. This was a little confusing since he mentioned when I came over to his law firm that he would handle the case without any additional fees. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a thing with him. I refused to pay it since he agreed to do the case and not exceed the retainer. At this point I had it. I asked for my file and told the lady at the counter that I was terminating him as our attorney. He never reached out by phone to discuss the matter, instead he sent me a very snarky email stating that I was in the wrong and he never once owned anything that he did wrong. It was all my fault. I responded to the email pointing out where he was wrong, and never received any response back. Now I'm out thousands of dollars that do not reflect the work he did. We contacted several other attorneys after this and all questioned Kevin's handling of the case and didn't understand why certain things weren't done correctly. I would highly, highly, think twice before you retain his services.

SHOP DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!! Last September I took my 27' Ranger Tug to Canyon Marine…read moreto have the 1000hr maintenance done on the Yamaha 300HP outboard at the recommendation of my usual boat shop. The tech at my normal shop didn't feel qualified to do that level of service and said Casey at Canyon was more experienced. When I picked up the boat Canyon had done over $500 worth of work I had specifically told them not to do, that I would do myself. They also DIDN'T do some of the items I had requested they perform. When I got the boat home I found the oil level overfilled, so I pumped out some oil. It looked VERY unusual for brand new oil, like dark tea with a reddish tinge. I questioned whether it had even been changed but when I had it analyzed the lab said it looked clean so I dropped the issue. This May we launched the boat in Anacortes, WA and I started the motor for the first time since picking it up from Canyon Marine. We quickly discovered that the head was cracked and the motor was ruined. I called Canyon Marine at the time and left a voicemail message with the manager telling him about the failure. No one called me back. After I knew what the problem was and what the replacement motor cost would be I sent a letter to the manager at Canyon Marine detailing the issue and asking for a refund of the $2573 they charged me for the work. No one answered me. This motor cost tens of thousands of dollars to replace and all I asked for was what they charged me to ruin my outboard. The motor was running fine when I hauled the boat out last August before taking it to Canyon Marine. I had just run it from the Puget Sound to Alaska and back with a retired police officer who can attest to this. No one could determine the root cause of the failure so I can't prove Canyon Marine did this but it seems highly likely. Worked when I dropped it off, didn't work next time I started it after they serviced it. The customer service I experienced with this business has been truly abysmal.

Hiring Krista was the worst decision I made in my divorce. She allowed Mandatory Disclosures from…read morethe opposing side to be 6 weeks past due before ever saying a word. She allowed my ex to enter my home on two separate occasions, against a court order, and did nothing to put a stop to it. She allowed my ex to max out our credit card and knowingly leave me in a completely financial crisis, and took no action against him. I tried to fire her before trial based on all of these facts, along with over 32 unanswered emails in a few month timeframe. She not only lied in her affidavit, stating that the reason for her withdrawal was because communication between client and attorney had broken down and that I wasn't paying my bill (which was paid in full at that time), but then she also didn't show up for the hearing and instead sent someone else in her place who had zero knowledge of our case. The judge subsequently denied the request for her withdrawal, forcing me to keep working with her. She looked me in the eye at our next interaction and said, "have you found someone else yet, because I know you don't want me representing you?" She knew my ex hadn't complied with Discovery requests but waited until a week before trial and then filed a Motion to Vacate and Reset the trial date, which the judge denied and stated, "Ms. Thiry, if you knew all of this Discovery was missing, shouldn't you have filed a Motion to Compel at some point?" Her reply, "Well, I was hopeful we could work it out between the parties, but here we are." Along with denying the Motion, the judge then allowed the opposing side to turn in an additional 1,000 pages of documents 5 days prior to trial. I ended up accepting a horrendous settlement in attorney-assisted mediation the day before trial because I was more terrified of having her represent me than I was of taking an awful deal and at least being done with her. I personally know a few other people that have had very similar experiences with her and I've had the situation reviewed by a couple of other attorneys and they've suggested that they believe I should sue her, but finding an attorney that is willing to go after another has been unsuccessful. Krista seriously failed me in my divorce and I would very strongly recommend against anyone hiring her!
