Plenty of free parking in the lot behind the building. Staff was welcoming and guided me through a quick registration for a free day pass since it was my first visit. I attended an evening Zumba class. It was such a great experience that I visited the next day ($10 per day guest pass) to take a barre class. It can be intimidating when visiting a new gym, but the instructors and the participants were friendly and inviting. The classes had varied age groups and the medium to fast pace of the classes kept up a healthy sweat throughout. I can only review the group classes since I didn't take advantage of the other amenities, but my guest pass permitted me the use of the entire facility (tons of machines, a pool, locker room, sauna, open gym/basketball court, and childcare). The building itself dates back to 1903, but most of the facility has been recently renovated and appeared clean and organized. I will definitely be a repeat visitor.

My mom started taking me to barre and yoga with Jackie, and I am seriously a new person. Actually, I'm about 20 pounds less of a person. My mom describes barre as "ballet on steroids," and that is a very good thing, my friends! Not to toot my own horn too much, but (comparatively, anyway), I look hot. I'm no spring chicken, but some 20-year-old guy whistled at me the other day. That's how good Jackie is at her job. I have a lot of old sports injuries and my ankles are utterly destroyed. I've had to cut back on running big time and there's not a lot I can do without limping for the next week or so. This has been bumming me out for years, but barre and yoga are both low impact enough that I can go 4 times a week without feeling any extra pain. Don't get me wrong though, these classes are HARD. Like, thigh-shaking, gasping for breath, I can't walk the next day difficult. Still, they're amazing! I feel so strong and good about myself, and Twisted is a really friendly and nice place to work out. I love it, and you should check it out asap!
