All of a sudden there was no one there ... So not even a little bit of a normal situational issue to happen to an entire store especially when the Company is not a small "mom and pop shop or something within that realm. No notices as to the status of the business. I just kept driving, like so many other people,waisting my time and gas re-visiting the site and looking for an answer as to why the store was closed and what I could expect in the future? Well finally, one day, out of the blue, they opened their doors with a new staff, which I was extremely disappointed in, due to their poor performance in general, demonstrating no,if any, ability perform in a professional manner and demonstrate a level of competence, and most importantly a sense of pride within themselves and their own work. Now it's April 29th and I believe it was last weekend, could have been the one previous, and here we go again.. it was a Sunday, over an hour before the posted closing time and THEY WERE CLOSED! It's happening AGAIN ... My question to the Murphy Oil is how do you actually still manage to keep your Company from going bankrupt and losing everything if you're Chastain Store is an appropriate example of the expectations that you, the Company's leadership team are an example of your expectations and the Company's own failure to deliver a sustainable business plan that is more sustainable and effective in the actual field therefore the actual closing of an entire location would never have occurred and there would be contingency plans in place. Please, STAFF the store and have the store stocked and running during the limited hours that have been changed Thank you for your consideration and help.Also I do hope that whoever has the misfortune of Overseeing this Store that you have a new drive and a clear passion for creating a culture for your customer's experiences to succeed their expectations. I used to be a regular customer until I kept coming and the store would never be open. Then a new…read moremanager took over and she ran it into the ground. Her attitude was horrible she would scream and cuss at the customers. The store was always dirty and ran down. I stopped by chance 2 months ago, I can say it has completely changed. It's clean and well stocked and the staff they have hired or fast and friendly. I consider myself a regular customer again. Not too mention the prices for cigarettes and and gas can't be beat.

FIRESTONE told me I needed my air filter and cabin air filter changed, do a brake fluid exchange, flush out my coolant and get a battery corrosion package. They also said I need new tires right away or else it won't last until my next oil change. Joe at Coastal told me I didn't need an air filter, they most likely didn't even check the cabin air filter (Firestone took 30 minutes to do an oil change and it takes 30 minutes to check just the cabin filter), brake fluid exchange is almost never necessary, my coolant is clean, and he cleaned the corrosion that was on my battery and put a protectant over it for free. He also checked my tires and said I have a few thousand miles before I need to absolutely change them. I am moving to Pittsburgh and he said I could even drive there without a problem. Oh, I also had a scratch on the front driver's side of the car, but he actually cleaned off the paint of what I hit for free. Joe is a really honest, trustworthy, and a knowledgeable guy!! He has been doing this for 30 years! He said dealerships and big companies try to get services done because they get commission. He says he's there to make money BUT more to help save money for the customers. I believe it because I tried to pay him but he declined. My family and I have been here multiple times and he always treats us really well.

The store is reasonably clean and has a good selection (especially when you need to satisfy that "junk food" craving). The factor that makes this convenience store / gas station stand out above the others nearby is the friendliness of the staff - they are always welcoming and seem to appreciate your business. My only advice to management - the incense can be a bit strong at times!
