The guys who work here are always super friendly and they get cars in and out of a line quickly. They have a vacuum and an air machine on the side of the building. Full quick stop mart as well that has lotto and fresh coffee. Only thing is the jacked up has prices! Holy heck are they expensive! There is no big sign on the side of the road either, only way to see the prices are at the pump so watch out!

Astonished at this company's business practices. I picked up an order I had placed online. As I…read morewalked out I realized that the bag was missing the sub sandwich that was part of my order. Apparently they no longer make that sandwich. They made me a cheaper sandwich without agreeing that I deserved a partial refund. The fact that the sandwich is still offered online is the fault of incompetent executive management. What I find so appalling however, is that they thought it was perfectly acceptable to allow me to walk out with my fully paid order without telling me that the $15 sandwich was missing! Extremely dishonest.

I've been going to this ex-Hess station for years, when it was originally an actual Hess station…read more It's hard to distinguish gas stations from one another, but I think this place shines with it's cleanliness and accessibility. There are multiple entrances to the pumps, which is helpful when lines start to build up. Moreover, there are always reliable deals on junk food inside the station, which is great in a pinch. The prices seem to be market-driven, and not artificially inflated due to the area's affluence. There's an air pump as well, which is helpful when the inevitable tire pressure light turns on. If you're located nearby, I'd suggest enrolling in a Speedway rewards card, simply because this station is conveniently near many restaurants and points of interest. Overall, a better-than-average gas station.

Jamaica mart! So…read moreback in HS when we were all starting to drive (not me I was a punkass late bloomer) we'd shoot down Jamaica ave for everything. Gas was $1.75/gl back then and it didn't matter weather you paid cash or credit. I used to tip this guy in McDonald's French fries and lost in translation jokes. They had that shady porn curtain made of beads to the right of the register and sold all our favorite snacks. Man, we'd go there for every occasion; during bomb threats at the school, cutting class and driving around, I even went there for cheap gas through my college days... hell, I was loyal to that gas station after I dropped out too. When you're that age, a car is freedom, and the open road is all your hopes and dreams before they were smashed by cops and life, and horrible ex girlfriends, and Work, and money, and NewYorkers... I digress. Everything I did back then involved driving forever and ever and when I needed a fill-up, I'd go to Jamaica mart. He'd always tell whatever girl I had in the car she was pretty or he'd tell me... he was a funny little creep indeed. One day the guy asked me "you're here all the time..." I didn't quite understand exactly what he said next, but he gave me $20. Either he thinks I left without my change (possible knowing me) or he just gave me $20... either way what an awesome thing to do. Anyway I stopped going there. Fucking weirdo Lol. Just kidding. Well no, I really did stop going there as much, I got too lazy to drive all the way to Medford as my life shifted away from the LIE and to the south shore routine. Ah the memories though.

The Portion Road Speedway…read more With 87 octane fuel reaching $4.05 per gallon in Las Vegas, I appreciate the price of $3.49 per gallon for 87 octane here. Actually my dad does, since he was pumping the gas for his vehicle. This Speedway is an old fuel station that dates back to at least the early 1980s when it was a Hess. Over the years it has been renovated. This includes the Cape Cod exterior of the convenience store. When I use to live in the area back in the 1990s this was one of the gas stations that I used to fill up my Chevrolet Celebrity then Mercury Cougar. Just like it was over two decades ago when it was a Hess, this is one of the easier gas stations to maneuver around and get in and out of. Unlike the Portion Road BP and generic gas station, and Exit 61 Mobil. The Sullivan Street to Ackerly Lane backway provides an option to exit onto westbound Portion Road. And just like it was decades ago when the Hess family owned it, it is clean. There is none of that graffiti on the gas pumps that spoils some gas stations. At the same time that it celebrates the past it celebrates the future. Where I looked out toward a convenience store that reminded me of a coastal Long Island Cape Cod house, my eyes took in my dad paying for the fill up by inserting his credit card. This alleviated the extra steps of stepping into the Cape Cod house convenience store. The fact that this is the gas station that my dad and I stopped at on Long Island is evidence that it generally a safe area. After my dad put in $3.49 per gallon for gasoline here, I will put in my $3.50 cents by saying that the Portion Road Speedway in Lake Ronkonkoma is a good gas station that has been that way from at least as far back as the President Reagan Administration.
