Corn on the Cob & Butter; Biscuits & Gravy; Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis; Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band... it's all good. A practical match though is always a nice Win-Win. Like putting together the single best convenience store with good quality and discount priced Union 76 Gasoline. Brilliant. I am one of the unfortunate who commutes across the river to and from Portland from The Couve so anything that helps takes the edge off the trip is welcomed. Getting my liquid dinosaur and a nice frosty beverage and some jerky all in one stop just makes me smile. The staff is always decent, you can't really hold it against the poor guys and gals who have to come pump your gas for being a little off putting but the cashiers are always friendly. It's a fairly simple on and off of I-5, if you're opting to cut across from I-5 to 205 via Marine Drive it's a convenient stop as well. Who would have thought I'd get excited about a place like this, but here I am, Yelpin' about it. Sadder part is you're actually still reading.... :-)

This north Portland commercial complex has something for everyone, and I highly suggest stopping by to check it out. First and foremost, this is a truck stop with all of the ammenities one would expect to find in such a place. There is a convenience store, laundry facilities, showers and overnight accomodations. But this truck stop takes things to the next level. Visitors will also find a movie theater, an oil bar with seating a great customer service, a massage parlor with a wide variety of modalities and services offered, a large family-style eatery, as well as a lounge and entertainment space that hosts well-known musical acts touring the country. Jubitz has been around for a very long time, in various iterations, and it seems to only get better with age. The overall scope of this place is remarkable. The restaurant is massive, the lounge is as well, and the big names that perform here are pretty impressive! I've bookmarked their performance calendar and will be sure to check out one of the future dates myself.

Plus, there is no parking overnight for normal vehicles when every other truck stop in oregon welcomes all kinds of tired drivers---truck or normal vehicles. They don't even make you pay typically, this is the only place that not only wouldn't take my money, but was rude about it as well! Kind of strange IMO.

If zero stars could be an option, I'd select negative infinity for this gas station. Never have I…read moreever felt so livid about customer service as I feel about this place until now. 730PM - roll up to the pump #3 735PM - the attendant finally comes and helps 740PM - thought I was good to go, but no Apparently, pump #3 has been having difficulties (overhead this based from the conversation clerk inside having on the telephone). Pump #3 doesn't print a receipt and their computer wasn't receiving a complete signal from the pump. I was told to go inside where the clerk behind the counter was on the phone and told to take an imprint of my card. Guy grabs some old machine that he doesn't even know how to use (he was obviously dumbfounded figuring it out), takes my card, and then tries to take an imprint. In the process of trying to take an imprint of my card, he DESTROYS IT! The strip of my card is MANGLED and the card is BENT! I was distraught that he had destroyed my card and that he didn't even apologize for what he just did "Oh, it still works, what do you expect from me? Do you have anything to leave behind for the gas?" He gives me a copy of whatever he just took of my card (it didn't even imprint my card) and then calls whomever he was talking to on the phone earlier. Then decides as an option AFTER he destroys my card "Can't we just do a general merchandise sale on her card from the machine and if she's double charged, we'll refund her?"... I thought to myself, why didn't you do this in the first place before you destroyed my card! He had almost charged me $53.18 when the gas was worth $51.18, but I corrected him. He then took my card and tried swiping it on their machine numerous times (trying to prove he didn't destroy my card) and to his astonishment my card couldn't be read. He tries using a plastic bag to see if it'll help the card be swiped and it obviously couldn't be read. He then tries flipping the card to see if it could be read and OBVIOUSLY it COULDN'T because he was swiping the strip on the wrong side. No matter what, the strip of my card was entirely useless after it was destroyed in his possession. He then manually types in my card number while asking me questions about the card that were obviously there, TWICE: Is this a 6 or 0? Where is the expiration date? It goes through manually, he gives me a receipt to sign, I take my copy, he explains to me if there are dual charges to come back again and be refunded. Like hell I'd want to waste my time in a God forsaken establishment like that again. Told him I'll just deal w/ my bank and I walked away. 8:15PM - I finally drive off from the damn place I have to pay attention to my credit statement more than usual to make sure there are no dual charges or unusual charges. It took the entirety of my being to not curse a storm, but my anger was clearly heard through my tone of voice. How can a customer be calm when almost an hours worth of their night is wasted and their card was physically destroyed by someone else's incompetence? Don't ever tell an angry woman to calm down especially while they are doing their best to be civil in the situation and not curse as bad as a sailor at your ass!

The "full" did not stand for service but rather full of "sh&$!". He didn't even hand me my receipt. I had to get out of my car to pull it off the pump. With gas stations like this, no wonder Portlanders prefer to bike. If this was my choice to pumping my own or stopping at this station, I would drive the extra 8 miles to avoid this station. The station was filthy too. Thank goodness I didn't have to use the bathroom. I shudder to think what that would be like.

They're reliably cheaper than the Freddies or the AM/PM across the street and don't charge extra for using a credit card. To be fair, I just come here to buy gas. Full disclosure, one of my favorite things about this gas station is that apparently some people don't like it. There's never a line here, and while it's not the fanciest-looking gas station, the staff is super nice. I never have to wait long, and they're super cheap too! (Plus, there used to be this old dude who worked on the weekends and would play Johnny Cash!) 5 stars from this frugally minded Yelper (but if you want to spend more money on gas and go someplace else, I'm totally cool with that!)
