This is, on the surface, a regular gas station. While I've gotten gas here many times before, I have not much to say about those experiences other than the station is fairly well laid out which makes it easy to get your fill. Keep in mind they also offer tire service. If your pressure gets low they have an air hose. Easy access and you can pump the tires fast for 75 cents (DIY). But if your tire is flat or damaged you must come here. Off to the side there's a little garage. The guy who works it is a magician. He jacked up our car took the tire off and within ten minutes he came out after reattaching the liner which had slipped off and caused a slow leak. All the cabbies know this is the place to go to fix your tires. Don't go to the car dealership, just go here. Get this - they charged 20 bucks! read more

Yes, a gas station of this size is a rare sight in Manhattan. This one is always busy being so close to the FDR Highway. When I walk past this corner I must be careful not to be run over. There are always tons of cabs congregated here for some reason. It's convenient for my car owning guests to gas up. With prices the way they are in the city they usually do their gassing up near home. Just thought anyone visiting the Upper East Side would like to know we do have a fairly clean Shell Station available. read more

Always, always crowded. I have to put my parking skills to the test just trying to pull up to a pump and then maneuvering back out. The prices appeared good, however it took me 3 visits before I realized that debit cards are assessed the same surcharge as credit. It is way too hectic to stand in line and pay cash. read more

They have bad gas I only put 93 in my Harley and then I figured out it was still leaving so much residue in my fuel filter I never go anywhere but go to lex and 102 they have best gas. I stopped here in desperation once. I had been in traffic for ages and was running low on gas. I avoid getting gas in the city for many reasons, but the main one is the cab drivers. This place is no exception. Too many cabbies, they don't move their cars along and it's just a disaster. read more

One of the only gas stations in this general area Ues, 96th and 1st. Being listed on Yelp has been a huge help for me and I'm sure countless others when low on gas and no idea where to find a station in the city. Have gas when I need it, thus 4 stars. Can be a bit of a hassle and take a few minutes getting in during rush hour but that would be the case anywhere in Manhattan. Close by gas station on the UES. Right on the corner of 96th and 1st Ave and a minute away from the FDR. Seems to always be open and convenient to have when returning a rental car and need to fill the tank. Lots of cabs fill up here so maneuvering in and out can be a hassle. As with most gas stations in NYC the prices per gallon are high. read more

Handily located on the corner of 96th and 1st, close to the onramp to FDR. Lots of cabs use it, so it can get busy, but it does have a lot of pumps. N.B. the advertised prices are for CASH payment and seem to run 10 cents higher than the credit card price. Old school that way. They have a little 1-bay service station here, along with a small convenience store. read more

Picked up a large nail in right rear tire on my BMW. Drove in at 11:15 on a Monday morning March 3, 2020, and asked how much to patch it. $20. The work was done in 15 minutes and I was on my way. Full points! read more

it's a good gas station to have around in the area cause manhattan is very limited with gas stations in manhattan especially on the upper to lower east side. the location is on the corner of 1st ave and 96th st and it's smack near the fdr drive entrances so you can full em up before you continue on your journey . it's open 24/7 and it caters to the cabbies who really don't have much gas station options on the island of manhattan. its not the cheapest gas prices around and they are well aware so you will pay a little more but it's better then running out of gas on the fdr or on 1st ave along the el barrio. read more

do not get air here. the machine only gives you 60 seconds, barely enough to fill one tire. when i ask staff regarding this, they said that's how it is, you just have to put in more quarters for your next tire. i asked to speak to the manager and with a uptight attitude they told me he's not going to help me. stay away from this gas station, they are cheaters. read more
