Attendant came out and said " you said pump 12". I said no I didn't but I will pull to pump 12. He said no someone else is at 12 using your gas. WHAT KIND OF RACKET ARE THEY RUNNING? But hey, it's not their fault...they have to buy it first and pay high prices too. This place is usually a few cents lower than the Exxon down the road at Exit 59, which is a real plus in my opinion When gas is up towards $4 and $5, I want to squeeze every penny out of these guys. And speaking of these guys, they're always really friendly there and have accents. At the pumps are TV sets playing some news stories and showing the latest specials inside the very large food mart. Keeps you interested while you're taking care of business. This place has a great color scheme. It makes it seem action packed and gets me excited to get gas. Seriously, get a load of the pic I put up and tell me you don't want to run there right now and fill up? Then maybe go inside and get some snacks and a 12pack that's on sale? Well, probably not but the colors are cool compared to Exxon or any other gas station. Yay for gas. EDIT: Since my review, the Exxon I mentioned has since become Gulf.

For example, the Mobil station off of Exit 62 West charges several cents more for each grade of gas. The fuel economy at Mobil also seems better than most of their competitors. I get about 35 miles per gallon (highway) in my Hyundai Kona as long as I fill up with Synergy Supreme premium. I drive about two weeks between fill ups. When I was filling up at Costco, I ran on empty within several days. Inside the Bolla Market is usually clean. For example, the metal drip trays in all the espresso and soft drink machines were wiped clean. Exxon/Mobil also has a rewards program. Members use either the app or a card at the pump to accumulate frequent filler bonus points. Those who fill up with Synergy Supreme premium gas get the most points. The more you spend, the more points you get. Points are also earned if you buy items in the Bolla Market. Right now, I can redeem my points for $16, which the app credits to Apple Cash, but I prefer to keep accumulating points until I reach $20 in reward money. Lastly, sometimes there are some strange characters who hang out outside the station, but that's usually everywhere you fill'er up.

Gasoline & Convenience store…read more This place has been under construction for some time and now that they are open, they have the cheapest gasoline in the entire area. Literally about 30-40 cents below everyone else, particularly if you are paying cash, this is the place to hit for top off the tank. The inside is clean - and new - and the guy working there is pretty friendly. Definitely worth hitting.

The Portion Road Speedway…read more With 87 octane fuel reaching $4.05 per gallon in Las Vegas, I appreciate the price of $3.49 per gallon for 87 octane here. Actually my dad does, since he was pumping the gas for his vehicle. This Speedway is an old fuel station that dates back to at least the early 1980s when it was a Hess. Over the years it has been renovated. This includes the Cape Cod exterior of the convenience store. When I use to live in the area back in the 1990s this was one of the gas stations that I used to fill up my Chevrolet Celebrity then Mercury Cougar. Just like it was over two decades ago when it was a Hess, this is one of the easier gas stations to maneuver around and get in and out of. Unlike the Portion Road BP and generic gas station, and Exit 61 Mobil. The Sullivan Street to Ackerly Lane backway provides an option to exit onto westbound Portion Road. And just like it was decades ago when the Hess family owned it, it is clean. There is none of that graffiti on the gas pumps that spoils some gas stations. At the same time that it celebrates the past it celebrates the future. Where I looked out toward a convenience store that reminded me of a coastal Long Island Cape Cod house, my eyes took in my dad paying for the fill up by inserting his credit card. This alleviated the extra steps of stepping into the Cape Cod house convenience store. The fact that this is the gas station that my dad and I stopped at on Long Island is evidence that it generally a safe area. After my dad put in $3.49 per gallon for gasoline here, I will put in my $3.50 cents by saying that the Portion Road Speedway in Lake Ronkonkoma is a good gas station that has been that way from at least as far back as the President Reagan Administration.
