My group was really excited to visit the Sheffield United shop- we had been looking forward to it all day! We arrived knowing the store closed in 20 minutes, so we were trying to move quickly, but there were so many fun and interesting things to explore that we had a difficult time choosing. We had plans to purchase a lot of merchandise, but unfortunately, the gentleman working there told us we only had two minutes left and made us feel rushed. It really dampened the experience, and we ended up cutting our shopping short. We definitely would have spent more if we hadn't felt pressured to leave so quickly. Lots of people are tripping over their own laces at the moment in Sheffield, it's an epidemic. I think it's because of this team, known as "Sheffield Untied." They have a habit of playing practical jokes on people by untying their laces. Horrible horrible business, I tell thee. First-Hand Experience: I've seen them play at home maybe 3 times. They have won every single time I've been there. I've never seen them play away, but I don't need to, to know that I love them. What a club, what a fan base. They are the pride of Sheffield. Their fans are even louder than rival Wednesday fans. Their stadium is a cauldron. Their intensity, their history... I can't wait to see them back in the Prem one day. So SUFC are one of the great clubs of the UK. Absolutely legendary team full of history and glory. They're one of the biggest teams outside the top flight, and may even be the single biggest outside the top 2 divisions. Formed in 1889, the Blades are managed by the legendary Nigel Clough (son of legendary Brian) and their amazing stadium holds 32k, which is more than most Premier League stadiums. They compete in the Steel City Derby with Wednesday, another great club. Sean Bean supports them. Hotties Alex Hammond and Jessica Ennis support them too, as well as Michael Palin. One of their songs is called The Greasy Chip Butty Song. Wow. The movie "When Saturday Comes" with Sean Bean features this club a lot, he even goes on to play for them in a Semi Final. In Batman Begins, someone is wearing a United shirt. They're connected to Sao Paulo in Brazil and Estudiantes in Argentina. They were champs of England in 1898. Runners up twice around the same time. FA Cup winners an impressive 4 times, in 1899, 1902, 1915, 1925. So all in all, a definite five star club with a five star history, and one of the greats that belong in the Prem and hopefully will get back there soon. Brian Deane demands it. read more

I went along as my friend had a spare ticket so I'm somewhat unbiased :p It was a good night with a great atmosphere. Despite the large crowd we found a parking space nearby (perhaps more luck than anything though!) and headed in without too much hassle or waiting around. I enjoyed the game, and again after they opened up big gates so you weren't queuing for ages to get out. We often go to games here, it's a great stadium with a great atmosphere. Games are always well attended and the regulars have their own chants which are sung on a regular basis. Parking around the venue is a nightmare, in fact, unless you get there hours early, you will not be able to park near the ground. It is near good bus routes though and it is walkable into Sheffield city centre from the ground. It gets packed around the ground on a match day but there are always plenty of police making sure things flow smoothly. Inside the ground, it is fairly modern. The toilets are quite clean given it's a football match and you don't normally queue long. There is a snack bar selling fast food and beer, although you can't take the beer up into the match. It's overpriced but only as expected at a venue like this. The seats are quite cramped together but clean. You get a good view from most seats in the ground but we always sit in the Valad Stand, which has a mixture of adults and kids seated there and the atmosphere is good. read more

I love this place, but then again, I am biased. Bramall Lane has been the home of various sports for over 150 years and despite being a stadium fit for modern day football, it still retains a traditional look. There is currently a 4* Copthorne Hotel being added to the ground due to open later this month. read more

This review may be a bit biased, as I am a Sheffield United supporter myself. As a season card holder in the 'Kop' stand for the past 6 years, I have seen the facilities at Bramall Lane be massively updated to a standard most certainly fit for the Premier League. Despite the team playing there being pretty bad recently, the atmosphere has remained quite good, though with a big decrease in crowd attendances the noise levels aren't what they were when I first got my Season ticket. The addition of a big screen which displays the live match, Sky Sports news, advertisements and related media is very welcome. Stewarding at the ground is a mixed bag they seem to be much more comfortable with being stricter with the home fans than the away! The Fire Certificate rule imposed by the council on all Sheffield sports venues is ridiculous, but is obviously out of the clubs control. When you hear 33 thousand people singing along to the "Greasy Chip Butty' (a rendition of 'You fill up my senses' by john denver) you'll understand why they call it Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane! read more

Bramall Lane is a great place to watch football with a great atmosphere, not one of the quiet premier league grounds. The ground is one of the oldest sporting venues in the world staging event, such as test cricket and internationals and is constantly being updated to look modern and at the same time keep its history. At the ground there is a hall of fame where many historical items can be viewed such as old international kits and important items in the clubs history. There is also the club shop where memorabillia and replica kits can be bought. There is soon to be a 4* hotel built next to the ground, which will include a gym. read more

The conference rooms had a bit of a refurbish a year or so ago and they look much better. Toilets are clean and tidy. Some rooms overlook the pitch so are alot more appealing. read more

God created football as a gentlemans game, hooligans ruined it, which I am led to believe is what most Sheffield United fans are from past experiences. After a game a group of fans lambasted me about my supposedly greasy hair, then proceeded to throw bottles full of wee wee at me. I started getting worried and ran for cover but was laid into by a fair few blades hoolies, who left me battered and bruised in the gutter. Thankfully I fully recovered and lived to tell the tale, but I now never go near this so called football ground, for fear of another pasting at the hands of the merciless blades business crew read more

Brammal Lane is known for the great stadium it supports. I have been about 3 times and have had a VIP back-stage tour through the changing rooms and played with the players on the pitch and you never really know how big the stadium is until you have actually stepped foot in the tunnel and onto the pitch.
