They advertise and allegedly sell tandoori food…read more Now I can't say that they don't have a tandoor oven but I can say that they didn't cook our food in one - but it's priced for tandoor that is to say food cooked over hot charcoal. Nope, nada, no. I started with a king prawn poori with a bread that's meant to be fried. It wasn't. If the bread isn't from a supermarket I'd be very surprised. The sauce too could easily come from a Sharwood's jar. My wife had seekh kebab she thought good. For mains I had tandoori paneer and it was simply cheese sliced from a block brushed in a tandoor paste again if it's not out of a jar I'd be surprised here too. The cheese did not see a tandoor oven or hot charcoal on its journey to me. It was tasteless really. I had a korma sauce with it (my choice) that tasted of condensed milk from a tin. My wife's chicken tikka masala too was poor tasting and not tandoored (is that a word?) the pilau rice was meh and our peswari nan was ok but again not cooked in a tandoor but under an electric grill. It wasn't brushed with ghee either. One glass of wine one small beer €45. Staff really pleasant and place cosy but the food just isn't close to good aside from the seekh starter. It's worth missing. Take a tip from me if you want tasty Asian food there's Suan Thai restaurant 10 minutes walk away is far and away better.

The young man explained the menu in depth and helped me chose a meal with all vegetables. My husband had a dish with shrimp. You can also request a level of spice. We both chose Medium. The food was very tasty. And large quantities. Prices are reasonable. Outdoor patio is very nice.

I think this is the best Indian food in Alicante, even better than Star of India in El Campello, if you're a local. They have good working air conditioning and when you ask for "muy picante" (very spicy), they do make it sufficiently spicy for someone who generally eats some spicy food. For a person used to proper Indian food and spice, you may need to emphasize the desired spiciness level (muy MUY picante?). Of the chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, the dal/lentil dish, Chef's biryani, chicken chana, and okra with sauteed onions, only the Chef's biryani was less than fantastic. Rice is always fluffy and real Basmati rice; naan are always fresh and fluffy as well. The mango lassi dessert tastes a bit fresh, but a bit like it is from a mix too? The kulfi ice cream-like dessert is small but delicious, with a nutty flavor and texture. House white wine is fine to drink with dinner although nothing spectacular. NOTES: prices do not include IVA (tax), unusual for a Spanish restaurant.

The evening menu was €16.95 instead of €10.95 they put on the website. Surprise :( Got a bit confused by the menu and couldn't get a meaningful recommendation from the waiter (no offence, very nice guy who tried his best to help me). Finally ordered: #12 Reshmi Kebab €4.95 #20 Biriani Vegetables €9.95 #32 Karhai Lamb €9.95 #24 Tandoori Chicken €8.95 Tasty stuff but the Indian vs Bangladeshi question remained - what is the difference? I asked a friend living in Bangladesh: Here are his thoughts (Q&A): Question 1: Is the Bangladeshi cuisine much different from the Indian cuisine?  Answer 1: Nope, not much different from India, almost same.  Question 2: What are the most known Babladeshi dishes? Which would you recommend? Answer 2: Actually Bangladesh is famous for ''Panta Vat Elis Mas'' (Hilsa Fish with Rice). I will recommend you to test our ''Roser Pitha'' ''Kuli Pitha'' ''Pakan Putha'' , you can call them some kind of cakes :) . Only available in Bangladesh. I would also recommend ''Malai Cha'' (special kind of tea). Actually my favorite is The Malai Cha. There is the most important food called ''Biriani''. It's the most famous dish in Bangladesh, also in India. Back to the restaurant. Overall, great service, friendly attentive waiters. Interesting food presentation Located on the first roundabout of CV-895 in Quesada, easy to find and park. Will probably come back to try the dishes recommended by my Bangladeshi friend :)

This Indian restaurant, which sits right on the beach in old-town Javea, is a real gem. It has started to suffer business since a Thai restaurant opened up right next door, but I don't think I could ever pull myself away from this place to go to the almost-always busier Thai restaurant. This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had outside of India itself. On top of that, the owner and staff are tremendously friendly, offer great, polite service, and do very well to remember their return-customers. I rarely experience such kind, friendly service. I highly suggest the Chicken Tikka Masala, and they can make it to any spice level that you prefer. I've tried the regular, the Madras level, and the Vindaloo level. The Naan bread is fantastic, and Cobra beer goes down well (as any Brit knows). If you're in the area, go to this restaurant. Whether you love Indian food, aren't sure about it, or have never had it before, you will not be disappointed. It's also extremely good value. There are no downsides, and the view is spectacular in the evening. 4 stars (standard) - 0 (nothing bad) + 1 (excellent food, great view, wonderful service) = 5 stars.
