I drive 40 mins there to see Jamie just to be told by her that I didn't need a consult and that she would do my hair, but blonding is not her expertise and that someone else would do blonding better than her. I told her that she was recommended via email so I was confused. And yes, I did say I wanted to go blonde in the online form and that my hair was black. I was way overdue for a haircut but reluctant in the context of COVID so my hair was pretty long. One morning I was bending over the sink and wasn't aware of the candle that my wife had lit on the edge of the vanity. Next thing I know, there is a sizzling sound and when I jerk up, I see a fireball climbing my bangs. I smack my forehead a few times and successfully put out the fire, but not before it shortened a good section of my hair from about four inches down to about a half inch. I was not hurt but the bathroom smelled of burning hair and I looked a bit rediculous. My wife was really amused but not looking forward to the haircut that would result in covering up this mess. We were basically imagining something close to a buzz cut in order to disguise the dramatically shortened section of hair, which would have been a stark departure from the longer hair I had generally had nearly all the years my wife has known me. Instead, the result was a good haircut. A week later, I think it is one of the best haircuts I've had in a really long time. There is honestly no reason I could have expected this from even the most expensive barber/stylist but Kim was unfazed and did a fantastic job. I came in with what seemed like a disaster and she turned me out into the public with a newfound swagger.

Didn't even come close to the style or length. It's as if she did the exact opposite of everything we discussed. Was she just not listening? It will take at least a year for my hair to grow out enough to be the length I asked for. I wish I was exaggerating. Mattie, the owners sister, was very apologetic. Even offered me free products for my hair. I appreciate her effort but my hair is screwed. Beware of the stylist you get.
