I have followed Jenna all the way from when she worked at the Promenade about 10 years ago or more…read more Although it is not the cheapest haircut, it is well worth the money for the outcome. You get what you pay for. I have never received anything close to as good of a haircut from anyone else. I have extremely thick hair which can be hard to manage, especially when it's long. And when she styles my hair after the cut, it's always amazing and will probably be still almost perfect the next day. (You can make the style work for you for like 3-4 days with small touch ups) Jenna did my hair for prom, which was in 2013, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she blew my mind with more than I could have hoped for. She took the hairstyle I showed her and made it BETTER. Me, my mom and my grandmother go to Jenna and have followed her wherever she goes. My mom has also followed Tara since the Promenade for hair dying. (Jenna and Tara both work here obviously) Bauhaus is a beautiful salon with extremely friendly staff.

The appointment system is incompatible with the salon's cancellation policy…read more After my cut & balayage service months ago, I scheduled a maintenance appointment for 3 months in the future. On Monday, the day before my appointment, I received a reminder email from Vagaro but there was no option to cancel through the platform. I called the salon but it's closed on Monday so I sent Bauhaus a message through Vagaro explaining that I needed to reschedule the appointment. On Tuesday morning, 7 minutes after they opened, I tried calling again but the line was busy, so I left a voicemail. A few minutes later, someone from Bauhaus called me and I assumed they were calling me back to reschedule. Nope. They said that because I didn't cancel my appointment within 24 hours, they are billing me for 50% of the service I booked. I explained that I'd left a message via Vagaro and that I left a voicemail this morning. "You should have left a voicemail yesterday." Specific instructions to leave a voicemail instead of a Vagaro message aren't stated anywhere. I made multiple efforts in good faith to reschedule my appointment and let the salon know that I would not be making my 10am today. "I can't rebook you until you've paid the 50% cancellation fee." That's a shame. I have no problem paying the fee if it will be applied as a credit to my next service, but paying it as a penalty when the salon's booking systems don't support its cancellation/rescheduling policy is deeply unfair.

I was on the hunt for a new salon earlier this year after the one I patronized abruptly closed…read moredown. At the time I was living in Collingswood and Haddon Hair Designs was the closest option. They were able to fit me in quickly. I was blown away by my great cut by Carol that visit! She did an excellent job and was extremely personable to boot. You could tell she knew exactly what she was doing, which hasn't always been the case with stylists in the past. Earlier today I knew I had enough with my awkwardly long bangs and decided it was time for a snip. I popped in since I had to be in Collingswood anyway and figured I'd make an appointment if they were busy. Nope! Owner Sandy was available within five minutes. She sat down next to me in the waiting room to find out my goal before the wash/cut/blow dry. She, too, was so easy to chat with and obviously knew exactly what she was doing. Not to mention, she remembered the specific color and brand of my hair dye. We had talked about it during my first visit. Talk about excellent memory skills! My bangs (and hair) look great and my wallet is happy. I can't recommend these ladies enough. Whenever I'm back in the States, I will be returning!

She also didn't know what to do when I asked her to add some Carmel highlights to my medium brown hair. As a younger person I won't be going back.

Although this salon is beautiful and offers many services, they completely lost my business. I came in with builder gel already on my nails, and while I agreed to remove the previous set and add a $10 French tip on 4 nails, I was never told about extra charges added at checkout for "soaking off" and "length." Charging extra for removal makes no sense when nails are typically filed down during a new set anyway, and charging for length feels like an unnecessary add-on since maintaining length is part of regular fills and sets. Listing lower prices online only to add surprise fees is misleading, so I'd recommend asking about every charge beforehand. What made this worse is less than two weeks later my builder gel started separating from my natural nails and one completely popped off. During the appointment my nails were also burning badly under the UV light, which has never happened to me before despite getting builder gel regularly for the last 8 months. I called twice to address the issue and the manager has yet to return my call. Between the hidden charges, poor quality work, and lack of customer service, this was by far the worst builder gel experience I've had.

Tara is absolutely wonderful! I typically get my curtain bang layers trimmed to mid-cheek and…read morelayers every 3-4 months. For $50, the service includes wash, haircut, and blowout of my longer hair, which is an absolute steal in comparison to some of the other salons. Parking is street parking only, but one hour is only 25 cents so very affordable. I recommend booking online in advance since Tara does seem to get booked up quickly. Absolutely recommend Tara and this salon for haircuts and blowouts.

However, since I…read morewent there to cover my sporadic grays and they were still visible after my service, I will not be back. It was my first time ever dying my hair and this salon had great reviews and the prices were fair. I did not notice that my grays were not covered until I got home. It's now a month later and what was supposed to be permanent hair dye seems to have completely washed out. My hair looks exactly the same as it did before going there. It's not just the "grown out" hair. It's grays the entire length of my hair that are back. I know that I should have went back and had them redo it, but due to anxiety (& the fact that the girls that worked there were not rude, but definitely not friendly), I couldn't bring myself to go complain. Ultimately, it would be very uncomfortable for me to go back and have them fix it after telling them that the first job was completely sub par. However, as a girl on a budget who cannot afford to have a different salon redo my hair for a while, I felt the need to let others know not to waste their money. Take it from me, who is walking around with all of my original grays that I paid to have dyed only a month ago.
