Don't waste people's time (and even older people CAN have their time wasted) and don't insult people. The scheduler kept saying the practice doesn't take new Medicare patients. I repeatedly said I have private insurance, not Medicare. I understand code for ageism. I worked in a medical field. So here's a heads up. I was almost 3 years post partum when I went to see Dr. Bunner. I had been suffering terribly since…read more3 days after my daughter was born. Dr. Bunner was the 1st doctor to actually listen to me. I know my body. I had seen 4 OB's within my original practice starting from 6 months PP up until a few months ago. They told me everytime "this is NOT post partum depression caused by hormones, this is psychiatric, we can't help you. You need to see a psych". I left each appt in tears begging for help. I had already been seeing a psych since right before I got pregnant due to a traumatic event. The OB tested my hormones and kept telling me everything is fine, looks good. When I saw Dr. Bunner and explained to her I was sure it was hormonal and not psychiatric, she tested my hormones which came back within normal standards. Upon meeting with me I explained to her that the hormonal fluctuations and depressive/suicidal thoughts were only happening one week per month. (The OB was aware of this as well and never tested my hormones during that week, even upon my request). The day I saw her was one of my worst days. She insisted on testing my hormones within 24 hours of seeing her. I did, and within 5 days she figured out what had been wrong for three years. She's one of 3 docs who might have just saved my life BC SHE LISTENED TO ME. I wasn't sure I could survive one more week of that dark hole. My estrogen was spiking and causing depressive/suicidal thoughts. We immediately started hormone replacement therapy with a clear plan and I'm slowly getting better. If you feel this way, fight for yourself. Don't let a doctor tell you it's not what you know it is. You just need to find a doctor who will listen to you and Dr. Bunner will. I am in my 30s and she started me on hormone replacement therapy, in addition to it being expensive, multiple other providers informed me that it was unnecessary. I also lost zero weight with the semaglutide she was prescribing me. Once I switched to a different provider they informed that the semaglutide dosage she was giving me was not the dosage she told me. I really wanted to like her but after being with her for almost 6 months I really feel she's just money hungry. I'm still experiencing issues with the original reason I went to her.
