We had the matzoh ball soup and the lentil soup, with a side of hummus and pita. First... That pita was the most amazing Pita I've ever had! Upon entering, we told Mr Oli (the owner) that it was our first visit. Not only did he explain the menu in great detail to us, but he gave us samples of the chicken salad, lamb and baklava while we made our decision on what we were ordering. I had my mind set on the chicken kabobs, but changed after he showed me a plated salmon meal. It was cooked just as I like it so I ordered one for myself. My guy, who isn't big on trying new things, opted for the lemon pepper wings and fries combo. However, he did agree to try the gyro meal on our next visit. We also ordered a special dessert Mr Oli told us was a secret recipe from his wife that could only be found at his restaurant. I was excited to try it! A short time later, our food was brought to our table by Mr Oli. My salmon was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The salad was fresh and the dressing complemented it well. The pita bread was served warm and the hummus was creamy and flavorful. My guy enjoyed his wings and said that he could taste the special touch Mr Oli put on them. The dessert was something special. Crispy, and fried golden with a unique taste, it definitely was something we would order again on our next visit. It wasn't sweet but met the needs of a sweet tooth calling. If that makes any sense, lol. The creamy cheese filling reminded me of a decadent cheesecake. The ambiance gave quaint neighborhood eatery. As we sat and waited on our food, we saw regulars come in and order. They chatted with Mr Oli as he prepared their orders. He's super friendly and I want to see his business thrive. Great customer service, delicious, healthy food at comparable prices makes for a 5 star review. I can't wait to return for the chicken kabobs!

I'm just not going to eat room temperature soup. Bacteria much?! Chicken dishes were either dry or uninspired flavor wise and the steak kabob was overcooked and tough. I know they are a new place, but apparently these dishes are their family/cultural heritage (making an assumption here) so unless the kitchen staff are folks who can't even spell shawarma (or even pita) it should have been better. I like the left side of their restaurant with this nook type setting, I wouldn't mind sitting there next time. Our server was a high school girl who was extremely nice, she definitely added to our experience by taking the time to talk to us a bit even though she was pretty busy. The fresh pita bread and dips (garlic butter and salsa) provided were very nice and definitely a draw for me to go back. The garlic butter is actually Lebanese toum, which is famous for looking exactly like a fluffy, creamy white butter, but it is actually a dairy-free emulsion of raw garlic, oil, lemon juice, and salt. If you are not used to raw garlic, this may shock your senses a bit! We weren't super hungry, so we just ordered a couple of wraps - hummus deluxe and hummus chicken shawarma. It took a long whilenfor ancouple of wraps to come out, but luckily we had the bread to keep us company. The wraps were ultimately served fresh and hot, so that was nice and I would rather wait for hot food than have quick but cool food. Overall tasty, if a touch on the dry side. Just read another updated review about long wait yesterday, so last night may have been atypical. I do plan to go back and try something else!
