When we got there we ended up waiting 20 min for her to return from her lunch break. When we sat down with her she had a baseball cap on and I felt like I was at a second hand shop. Someone from another funeral home came in and she got up, did not excuse herself, and began talking to the person who had just came in just shooting time of day (we could hear her since she was right outside the door), came back in and continued to talk about her conversation about who she was just talking with. By the end of the time spent up there, we knew more about the funeral director with the baseball cap then she knew about my mom. I know this is a business but running a business that includes death of loved ones I just expected a more professional meeting with someone who could read the room and offer compassion.

The worst experience I have ever had with a Funeral Home. During the process of making arrangements…read moreto have my grandma cremated we were working with the Funeral Director Robert Grimsley, as my mother sat there crying no Kleenex's were offered to her. He had no compassion at all for our loss. It was like hurry up and make up your mind so he could move on. It was 3 weeks later my mom went back there to pick up the remains of her mother. The lady at the front desk said to another lady she is in the corner on the floor. The Urn was placed in a plastic on the floor along with several other smaller Urn's that we requested. We also asked if we could have some of the ash's so that we could sprinkle them over her mothers grave at a later time. When asked about them she handed my mom a paper Dixie cup that had a plastic bag of the remains in it. That is disgraceful!! It was like it didn't mean anything. Then as my mother went to leave the lady said "let me get that she is pretty heavy" really that is not how you speak about someones loved one. My mother was so upset that the next day she went to another local Funeral home and inquired about the process in which things were handled. At this time she purchased 4 more small Urn's that were exactly like what she purchased from Crossville Memorial for her kids and paid $100 for them. When my mother went and looked at the bill from Crossville Memorial she was charged $150 for 2 of the exact same thing. She called and questioned why the difference and wanted to speak to the funeral director and he would NOT get on the phone and told the office worker that that's what he charges and doesn't have to talk to her. There is so much more that took place and I could go on and on but what I have written above is horrible. Now, not sure if we were treated this way because we did not have a service for her but regardless this is NOT how you treat a family that has just lost a loved one, not to mention take advantage of them. I would NEVER NEVER recommend this Funeral Home in Crossville. I am very upset that my grandma was treated as a number and not as a human being and that my mother had to go through this process with no compassion to her for the loss of her mother. :( Shame on this Business!!!!
