I asked if he could send me a quote so I could compare it to a couple of other photographers I contacted, and he immediately got rude about it. He basically said he didn't want to "waste his time" sending a quote unless I booked with him right away over the phone this weekend. I had zero issues with his pricing the attitude was the problem. If I already felt uncomfortable just talking on the phone, I can't imagine how comfortable (or not) I'd feel actually doing a photo shoot with him. I'm giving 2 stars strictly based on how he treated me as a potential customer. Can't comment on the quality of his photos, but customer service matters too.

This is my first review on Yelp, but I had to publicly thank James Woodley Photography for making…read moremy photo shoot such a fun and enjoyable experience. I needed professional photos a very short time before an event. James worked closely with me to schedule the shoot, he gave advice and recommend beautiful local spots for the photos. His attention to detail and enthusiasm for what he was doing made the actual shoot a really fun day. Having explained to James that I also needed a large format print for my event that was only a few days away, he prepared the proof images within just a few days! From this I was able to choose the one I needed printed urgently. James delivered the final edited 16x24inch professionally mounted print only 3 days later, just in time for the event. I couldn't have asked for more. All of the photos were beautiful, it was almost impossible to narrow down my favorites from the proof selection!

This review is for the Groupon only, I did not take any actual classes unfortunately. There are…read moreseveral Groupons you can purchase for this school, but they are misleading. I purchased a four week Groupon for $99. There actually weren't many details, just said 4 week course. There was also a two two-hour class beginner/intermediate for $65, and 1 class for $45. $99 was the best value so I purchased it thinking I would have 4 (2 hour) classes (most classes were two or three hours). When I emailed the owner to schedule the classes, owner replied something about not doing the 4 week course anymore and now it was just 2 classes, 2 hours each. (I was thinking, hmmm he just decided to change the deal whenever he wants, even though Groupon says 4 week class?) And I said, ok, well that sounds like the $65 deal. Then I asked,"Can I have a $34 refund or credit toward another class?" He was like, oh that $65 is not two different classes, it is actually just 1 class for two people or one person can take the same class twice. I was thinking, who is going to buy a Groupon to go to the same class twice?!? And it says NO WHERE on the Groupon that the $65 class is for two people. It reads "two two-hour classes beginner/intermediate." Tell me what you think that means? Apparently in this case 2+2= 1. Fine print actually says "limit 1 per person"! I emailed him back screenshots showing that it does not say anything about two people attending or one person going to the same class twice. And he simply repeated that the class was for two people taking 1 class or 1 person taking the same class twice. At this point I was like, Forget it. I guess I couldn't read the invisible fine print he was talking about. (?????) I felt a bait and switch scheme going on. I told the owner that, and of course no reply. I was looking forward to taking many courses, but I will take my classes elsewhere. I informed Groupon about the misleading offer, and that it needs to be updated to accurately reflect that first of all there is no actual 4 week course and secondly the $65 course is for a person who wants to take the same class twice. (?!?!? Who would do that?!?) anyway, just a warning if you are interested in the Groupon. Beware! I have 2 stars Bc I didn't take classes, but very disappointed the owner allows a misleading ad to promote his business.
