If I could give this place no stars I would have!! First, the have serious issues with there phone system! When you call it sounds like your talking to someone in a tunnel. I called various times to set up a hair and nail appointment. My first call I mentioned I bought the groupon but I was never able to schedule both hair and nails in the same day cause apparently they work on different days.. No full spa services here!! So by the time I got an appointment, I forgot to mention the groupon again which, the nail tech seemed pissed about when I arrived. She was slightly pleasant while doing my nails and such. Almost seemed forced though. However, I am me to the area and I was grateful she gave me tips about places to go that are local. That I suppose is worth the one star. When she finished my nails, I asked her to charge 5 for the additional tips and then 7 more for a tip. She was using a square to run cards. A system I know all too well! Problem was she had little service, we were in a concrete building and I was having trouble getting texts out so I can imagine she would have trouble with the square. I suggested she might go outside to ring it. She suggested there was a problem with not one but all four of my cards of which each had plenty of money on to cover a 12 dollar charge! I also have the square wallet which allows you to send the money to another square account, I asked her if we could try this but she wouldn't give me the name of her square business, she just kept saying it's different from the salon name cause its a personal account. She didn't even attempt to manually type the card in and I know why, they take a greater merchant fee when you do this. I have a square I use for shows and fairs I attend. Having no service is a common issue! I do everything in my power to accommodate the customer though. Not this lady. She was making a scene telling me she's never had an issue and it was all my card. Keep in mind, none of my cards were being declined, the authorization simply would spin and spin and then time out... Sound like a card issue or a service issue?! I finally with complete embarrassment told her I was really sorry that I would have to pay with the stack of quarter I had for meters at the beach. She shook her head and told me "no, what are you trying to do, you'll have to go to an ATM and come back or give me a check" I'm sorry, since when is quarters not accepted US currency?! Also, considering I really owe only 5 dollars and the rest is a tip, do you really think I'm gonna run down the street and spend 3 dollars to take out a 20 at an ATM?? I asked her "you won't take the quarters? Really? It's money?" She snidely responded with "you have $12 dollars in quarters there?!" I was pissed for sure so I barked back "actually I have $18 and its all I have cause I'm not leaving and coming back, sorry." At this point I was already stacking them in 4's. she started to reach for the already stacked quarters and pulled always and goes "you take your time with that". That was it for me!!! Her 7 dollar tip turned into a 2 dollar time. Mostly because I didn't want to 'take my time' anymore! I was completely embarrassed at this point!! I've never been treated so awful at any salon in my life!!! The kicker of it all, bad customer service isn't even the worst of it! She didn't do a full manicure! I never had my hand soaked and she never wiped down my nails with acetone, she said she used alcohol but less then 24hrs later the gel chipped on one of my nails. And no, I wasn't being rough with them. All I did between getting my nails done and it chipping was sleep and take a hike in the morning! I know the gel one stay if the nail isn't prepped properly! I asked a lot of questions which probably have her the impression I was a newb to the salon but alas I have the shellac/gel put on a lot and one of my best friend back home is a nail tech so I actually know the process and she did it wrong! I included a pic of the chipped nail!!! Avoid this place at all costs!! If they can't even get the nails right, is hate to see who they have in there for hairdresser considering I was told you couldn't do both in one day and yet as I was leaving someone was there getting her hair dyed and cut. Clearly this company is a mess! She said the owner goes back and forth between there and Mass but is mostly at the place in Mass. My suggestion would be sell this place to an owner who can dedicate more time to good salon! read more

This is a review about a Groupon from a while ago as well. Caveat that things may have changed in the several months since I went for my pedicure. If things have changed, I really hope someone posts. I hate to say it, but this place opened my eyes up to the fact that just because something is on Palm Beach, it doesn't mean it meets a certain standard. The first word I thought of when I stepped in, no offense intended, "ghetto." I had to wait 30 minutes while the nail girl finished up another customer. In the meantime another lady, a hairstylist with clearly no customers (this was Saturday by the way), went into sales mode and wrote on a piece of paper that she'd give me 50% off to come and get my hair done with her. Total sales mode. The overall vibe of the place and the fact that the lady wrote down her "special" on a piece of paper was a turn off. Before I even began my service, I decided to never come back. But hey, maybe the pedicure experience would change my mind? Nope nope. The pedicure consisted of sitting on basically a stool at the same height as the nail tech. She had me put my feet on her knees (I'm not kidding) to work on them. The big bucket where I soaked was literally just a bucket type of thing - no jets, nothing. Her color selection looked like what a struggling esthetician would have - a random assortment of colors, of different brands. The girl was very, very nice though. But I could tell that she's probably struggling to make ends meet. She also mentioned someone about the owner is trying to do community service work to get more customers or something. Nothing wrong with that, just the whole run down look of the place, the struggling vibe from the employees, and the overall drab atmosphere in contrast with its Palm Beach address made me decide to mark this off my list. read more

I'm so happy to have discovered Shampoo Salon. The first appointment I made was with Lana for a mani-pedi. She is wonderful! My manicure lasted at least two weeks without a chip, the pedicure nearly a month. While I was there, I consulted with Elizabeth about a haircut and also about my color. Went back for a haircut a few days later, it was perfect. I returned for highlights a couple of weeks after that. I LOVE IT. So does my family ;). I had another manicure from Lana, and she touched up my pedicure as a courtesy. We are moving to Nicaragua, but since my daughter lives here, I will have my hair cut and colored by Elizabeth, and my mani-pedi done by Lana! I encourage everyone to give Shampoo a try. You won't be disappointed! I also love the fact that it's a small, intimate, relaxed salon. read more

This salon has recently had a change of staff. I found that out by stopping there recently as I was bike riding. I talked to Elizabeth, a very well trained, knowledgeable hair colorist who changed the way I see myself. She said her goal is to make every client look at themselves and say " I look fabulous!" And I do!! I didn't know why my color never looked shiny until seeing her. The nail lady was also good and only charged me $35 for both mani/pedi. Since then I have tried countless Hair Salons and Stylists as i was looking for the same 1st class quality that I was accustomed to in NYC and Boston. It seemed I had to drive all the way to South Beach to get the true quality that I was used too. I was not happy with the experiences that I found in the Palm Beach area until....... Somehow, though some Divine Hair Power the Stars finally aligned and I ran into Lisa Naylor who owns Shampoo Salon and had a great reputation from the Boston and New England Area. I booked an appointment and drove the only 3+1/2 miles down beautiful A-1A to find her very cute and comfortable Salon next to the ocean. It was a dream come true. I chose to get a color and cut that day. i had a super relaxing experience as Lisa consulted with me 1st and explained everything in detail as to what was the best for my hair. She is a true pro! The color was a amazing, the cut was the best i had ever received! NOT KIDDING! THE BEST! When she was washing my hair I enjoyed a nice scalp massage with some great aroma therapy shampoo and conditioner. I was floating! My Experience at Shampoo Salon was just as i was looking for: Comfortable, Affordable and with a staff of experts without the hoopla and and over done Salon oversell experience of many others here. The only reason I went here was because ofa mani/pedi groupon. It wss a pretty disappointing service. I had an easy time booking the appointment so that was nice and it is an easy place to find. It is really not a top notch type of place. It didn't seem very clean and the nail polish color selection was pretty bad. The woman was nice and polite though. But my biggest problem with this place was that I didn't feel like they clean their nail and foot tools. And when they scrub the dead skin off of the bottom of your foot the woman did too much and I was sore for a week. And not only was I sore, I got athletes foot from there too. I have been in search of the perfect place to get my nails done since I moved almost a year ago; I no longer need to search. I randomly bought a groupon for Shampoo Salon and scheduled my appointment shortly after. I was nervous going to a new salon but little did I know that this place is perfect!! The employees are so nice, welcoming and just genuine. Not only was I impressed with the overall feel of the salon, I was more than pleased with the thoroughness and precise attention paid to my manicure and pedicure. I purchased a groupon for a discounted manicure and pedicure for this salon because I always like trying out new places. From the beginning it was a n uphill battle just to make an appointment. Everytime I called during business hours I would get their voicemail and leave messages with no responses. I emailed them with only a response that the manicurist would call me to make an appointment. A week and no phone call. Finally I get through on their phone number and make an appoinment. I show up to the appointment and was told that the only manicurist they have left early and said she was going to call her appointments to let them know, I never got a phone call. You are in the service industry! What horrible service! I drove from Jupiter to Palm beach only ot find, "oops, we don't have anyone for your appointment". I wouldn't pay the discount price for their services. I called Groupon and got my money back. Horrible reliability! read more
