They did everything they could to make him feel unwanted and worthless. Talking to administration about our concerns regarding the teachers there was a waste of time and effort. The only thing that gives me peace is the fact that I know God is in control of everything. He will fight for those who are not able to fight for themselves. We are at a new school and much happier. We transferred out in the middle of the year because my son's was unbearable. Hard to believe this is a Catholic school. I blame on the administrator for allowing his staff to behave the way they did with my child. He did absolutely nothing. He would not even make a teacher apologize when she yelled my son's personal business in a hallway in the presence of several students. It's very very small, the entire campus is centered around "the Nott" (attached photo) while a few buildings and several old beautiful houses circle it; the Admissions Center for example is a restored mansion, cool! Having gone to UT at Austin myself, the small size of the campus blew me away...and made me a bit jealous (I think the size of boyfriend's graduating class was the size of my Chemistry 101 class!) I'm wondering if the folks who attend here realize just how lucky they are. The few blocks surrounding the college are charming (Jay street for example), but Schenectady itself is pretty unsavory. All in all, not a good experience. My family moved quite a bit when I was younger, so I have a pretty decent idea of which schools in the area are gold and which ones are trash. This one is pretty trashy. Not allot of teachers cared here, except the art teachers, which have both since retired. The principal was awful too. Also, 3 kids died while I went there...not blaming the school, but I am saying that school is a big influence in our lives and if it's not a positive influence then it's part of the problem.

Troy high offers a great education with many opportunities. A large city school with lots of…read morediversity, the staff isn't the best sometimes but it's an okay environment. The lunch is free. Three stories tall. Many fights occur and bullying happens often, but the administrators resolve these issues. It is not a very clean environment.
