It has been remiss of me not to leave a review of this wonderful school after all the great years…read moreour family has spent here. My oldest son was just 18 months old when he first started in the baby room (he's 10 now). Until then, I had never trusted anyone other than family to care for him, so leaving him with new caregivers was incredibly difficult. Ms. Shirin helped make that transition so much easier. She carried him around lovingly, helped him adjust, and showed him so much kindness and patience. In truth, she treated all of the children with that same level of care. One of the things that initially made me choose KidsTown over other programs was the camera system throughout the school. Being able to see firsthand the excellent care the children were receiving gave me tremendous peace of mind. I also loved being able to check in and see my little guy enjoying his day and participating in activities. Before long, he was cleaning up toys at home while singing the "clean up" song he had learned at school! It quickly became clear that this was so much more than daycare--these children are truly learning and growing every day. As he moved into the Pre-K classroom, he began developing strong academic skills and a genuine love of learning. Every teacher he had helped nurture his strengths and encouraged his curiosity. He later moved into the kindergarten and elementary programs, where he continued to flourish with the benefit of close instruction and individualized attention. He has now successfully transitioned to public school, and I truly credit much of his academic success to the strong foundation he built at KTMS. Our second child now attends KTMS. He is autistic and has some additional needs, and the support he has received has been extraordinary. Ms. Karina and Ms. Suzie have been wonderful with him in the toddler classroom. Ms. Karina goes above and beyond every single day to support both him and our family. Before that, Ms. Mala was incredibly loving, patient, and attentive with him in the baby room. Since starting here, we have seen tremendous growth and progress. We could not ask for a more caring, attentive staff or a more positive environment. Supporting a child with extra needs truly takes a team, and at KTMS, we have found our village. While KTMS may not be the least expensive childcare option available, it has absolutely been one of the best investments we have made in our children's future. Mrs. Mahsa, along with her mother, are exceptional administrators. The school is consistently well-run, organized, and responsive. Whenever I had a question or concern, Mahsa was always accessible and proactive in finding solutions. Her years of experience with both children and running a successful school are evident in everything she does. We feel incredibly fortunate to have been part of the KTMS family for so many years, and I would wholeheartedly encourage any parent to consider it for their child.

Ms. Karina was his first teacher and thank God for them - they helped me with potty training and getting him socialized and around other children. He moved from pre-primary to primary and the way they teach math and explore cultures, sciences, and multiple languages (basic exposure to colors/numbers) was great!! He thrived at Kid's Town for 3 years and we still stop by to visit now that he's at another school, but I have given many referrals to KTMS and have great experiences with the teachers and staff. Plus, a ton of lovely memories!!

We were so lucky to have Ms. Tasha teach both my children! She had them both writing and beginning to read by the end of our time there. Ms. Tasha has many years of experience working with this age group and is truly impressive with how she conducts an organized and structured classroom with plenty of fun, hands on learning experiences. Ms Tasha and Ms Nupur prepared him so well for kindergarten that he feels like it is too easy but it did make it an easier transition. Can't say enough good things about the school. Highly recommend!!

She is now going into her third year, starting the TK program, and every single day she is excited to go to school. This is a true Montessori environment where children learn through hands-on exploration, independence, and respect for one another. You can tell that the kids truly love being there; the classrooms are always full of joy, curiosity, and kindness. We've seen so much growth in our daughter--academically, socially, and emotionally--since she started here. She has gained confidence, a love of learning, and friendships that mean so much to her. Royal Montessori School of Oceanside has been such a wonderful place for our family, and we feel so lucky to be part of this community. Students here are 2.5-5 years old. There is a 10:1 or so student ratio. The teachers are amazing and work very hard. There does not seem to be much overlap on coverage for their shifts, each teachers contributed significantly to the school and each student. One dislike - There is not as much handholding or personal care as my daughter's previous school: supervised bathroom visits, meal prep for lunches, application of sunscreen before outdoor time. Students are too young to do all of these themselves. I believe this is because of the small staff. The prices are affordable, including before and after school care. I also really love the classes are small and students are known by all teachers. It has a very personal touch that I very much love. We don't feel like customers, as seemed the case at other schools we visited.

My daughter has been a student at Mrs. Manika's school for the past two years. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, she no longer attends physically at the school. However, Mrs. Manika has continued with online learning, which has been engaging. The best part of this program is the educator, Mrs. Manika. She is a compassionate teacher, with amazing patience. Children's House is a small, home-based program, that I was extremely fortunate to find. Mrs. Manika is very attentive to the specific needs of your child. In addition to keeping parents updated on the progress of the student, we are also invited to the school multiple times throughout the year to watch our children perform in concerts. I was most impressed when my 3 year old, at the time, gave an oral presentation to both students and adults, about penguins. I've seen my daughter blossom both socially and academically. The school is run by Mrs. Manika who has taken pain staking care to ensure that the children receive an excellent education with authentic Montessori materials, while nurturing and loving them. As mentioned, the school is run in Mrs. Manika's home. She has converted her living and dining rooms into a traditional Montessori classroom with all high quality materials displayed on shelves placed at the children's level for easy access. She also has a small playground area in her backyard for the children to play on, and the children eat snacks and lunch together at their child size table taking turns serving each other and practicing their manners. During the school year, Mrs. Manika hosts a winter celebration and a graduation party for families, where the children proudly perform songs and skits they have practiced, and share projects that they have made. She also plans several field trips each year, which the children always enjoy and look forward to. Over the years we have been to the pumpkin patch, the flower fields, the aquarium, and the Wild Animal Park to name a few. Shalini is a caring and loving teacher who nurtures her students. She not only guides the children to learn the normal preschool fundamentals, but also fosters compassion, acceptance, self-discipline, respect for others and self confidence in her students. I personally find her easy to approach when I have any questions or concerns. I also like that she holds parent-teacher conferences each year after the winter break where we can discuss in detail my son's progress, and she has even upon my request, shared suggestions to help my child grow not only in his education, but also emotionally and psychologically. She is very tuned into each child's personality and uniqueness. My experience with Children's House Montessori spans the last 5 years and will continue for the next 4 years until my daughter completes preschool. During my boys' time at Mrs. Manika's school they learned so much and often came home excited, sharing the new things that they had learned. My oldest son entered Kindergarten very well prepared (especially advanced from the other Kindergarteners in the area of math) and transitioned nicely to elementary school. I expect the same for my second son when he enters Kindergarten next year. I truly can't say enough positive things about our experience with Children's House Montessori or Mrs. Manika.

Although this school is not a true Montessori it is being implemented as best they can considering the lack of trained teachers, they are very adaptable to children's individual needs. They have no tolerance for sub-standard teachers and will let them go and attempt to replace them with qualified invested professionals. If you are interested in attending plan to be in it for the long haul, there are going to be ups and downs. In those cases, families are treated warmly and respectfully on the surface. However, when a parent begins to raise concerns--even thoughtfully and professionally--the tone can shift quickly. The administration may start to view you not as a partner, but as a problem. Instead of open dialogue, the response often comes in the form of subtle retaliation, increased formality, or distancing behavior. Eventually, the pressure and lack of transparency can make a parent feel isolated and unsure, while the child--unfairly--is framed as the issue. From my experience, what seems to challenge the administration most are parents who: * Are observant * Ask questions * Understand how systems and accountability work * Expect clear communication, not vague policies These qualities appear to disrupt the comfort of those in leadership, and the reaction is often controlled but intentional. There is also a notable level of teachers turnover, which contributes to a sense of ongoing instability. If you're a parent who intends to advocate for your child, ask questions, or expect partnership, I encourage you to carefully consider not only the academic environment--but also the emotional and psychological safety the school provides. The experience can be deeply discouraging for engaged families when collaboration is replaced with control disguised as professionalism.

The Montessori environment allows my kids to learn life skills and to be able to explore what interest them. They've supported our children through every stage of development, celebrating their growth and guiding them with patience, kindness, and genuine care.
