Made a visit to Griffin Valley Ranch for a one hour trail ride on a beautiful Sunday afternoon…read more We were given a short lesson on how to handle the horses and then lead to the horse chosen for our specific size/weight/experience. Griffin Valley is set on some of the most beautiful property, about 15 kms outside of Cochrane. Our ride was easy and relaxing. The staff made sure to check in with everyone from time to time and chat with us or answer any questions we had. It's perfect for the person who has no riding experience, as the horses are extremely well trained. No need to worry about them getting out of hand, which lets you enjoy the scenery around you. They do let the more experienced riders take horses out for unguided trail rides as well, and offer sleigh rides in the winter. The map used to get there was from their website. DO NOT use Google maps, you will definitely get lost. The long winding road up to the Ranch is long, and you will feel like it takes forever to get there. Its worth it though!

I have only ever been here for the pool and party set up but its absolutely great. The pool here…read moreis awesome compared to Vivo which is the next close pool to my place. There is a climbing wall, a huge water slide, a tarazan type rope, huge hot tub, large kiddie pool, diving board and lazy river. My kids love it. I booked a birthday party here and they have several rooms to choose from and the price is pretty decent. You can bring in whatever food you want and they set up and clean up the room for you. You can put up your own decorations but time is limited in the room so I never did. They provide wrist bands for the kids and if I recall correctly you get a couple for the adults who are supervising. My only complaint is the girls at the front where you go to pay for swimming were harsh with the kids who were really excited to go in, telling them to go back and line up on the other side, there was no marked signage as to where the line up starts and its not like Vivo where if you have a pass you can go on through the fast line. Other than that its a really good activity center to visit if you don't mind making the 20 min drive out of Calgary.
