Alana was very helpful through the process of buying my Shichon puppy. I received an updated picture of the puppy prior to putting down a deposit and another one around 7 weeks. When we picked up the puppy, she came with a little care package that had one of her favorite toys to this day. The puppy was healthy when we picked her up and continues to be as she grows. I do recommend making sure you get directions to the kennel from Alana and go early because its a bit hard to find with GPS. read more

I really can't say enough about just how easy and wonderful it was to get my pup from Shade Mountain. Alana was always quick to respond to my questions. I requested a blanket be put in with his litter mates and Mom so that I could ease his transition, Alana was kind enough to do that for me. Two nights before I was to pick him up Alana contacted me that there was a small issue that the Vet detected. He was cleared to come with me, but she wanted to give me options in case. I can only say that there was no chance I wasn't bringing my pup home! Everything turned out just fine and as expected the little guy grew and the issue self corrected. I Live in Central NJ so the drive was a good 3 hrs both ways, but it was a nice Fall day which made for a pretty ride. If you are thinking about getting your new pup from Shade Mountain Kennel, just do it! Alana is very knowledgeable and is great at returning her messages. The dogs are well cared for and the place is clean. You can even look them up on the State Of Pennsylvania website to see if there are any violations. I did and there wasn't! read more

Our Teddy is healthy, happy, and very well socialized. Can't say enough great things about Shade Mountain. Alana is always available with friendly advice and helpful answers to all my questions day or night both prior to receiving Teddy and even after Teddy came home. Even during Covid she was willing to schedule an appointment for us to visit the kennel and always sent us pictures of Teddy as we requested them. Great place to buy a puppy! I just got my standard poodle pup there. Communication leading up to my picking her up was great. The lady that works there is really sweet. Pups are already somewhat potty trained. I just found out they aren't breeding standard poodles anymore after this year :( But they have other breeds available. my dad passed away over a month ago & my siblings & i were looking for a sweet puppy for our mom. she really wanted a multipoo & we searched & searched until alaina randomly texted me. she said she had a female & was very kind the first time we spoke..she went on & on about "how awful puppy mills are ect...." she had me fooled!!!! don't fall for it!! all of a sudden she got very pushy about the deposit only after a day & 1 lousy text conversation! we simply wanted a facetime call from alaina & we wanted to see the puppy b4 we payed a $400 deposit...she refused & "didnt have service" but she sure had enough service to fight with me!!!! lady only a moron would give ur scamming a** $ without proof & a contract on the buyer's end!! this place is absolutely a puppy mill & dont let alaina fool u! be smarter than this con-job & make sure u have ligit proof of life that the puppy even exists & make this woman sign a court-binding contract for youuuu 1st!!!! better yet, dont buy from this puppy mill!!!! read more

My husband and I decided on getting a puppy after our terrier passed away. He had been with us for over 16 years. We looked at various breeds and the shichon looked like it would be perfect for us. We also did extensive research on breeders because we wanted to be sure we got a healthy puppy. After seeing the website of the Shade Mountain Kennels we were sold. They had one puppy left from a litter that had been born in January. I contacted Alicia Snook and she said he "Milo" was still available. We were thrilled. She sent me a little video of "Milo" and we just fell in love with him. We live over 3 hours away and wanted to pick up the puppy early in the morning so that we could drive home and get the little guy settled. Alicia was wonderfully accommodating. She gave the puppy a bath before we got there so he would be relaxed on the trip. We have changed his name to Teddy. We have now had him for a little over a month. He is THE BEST little dog. Very smart, very good natured. He loves people, he is sweet and he makes us laugh with all his antics. He is a very healthy little guy. We are so lucky that we found Shade Mountain Kennels.
