Brazil loves Texas, Jimmy Choo sauce, Beans and Rice Plate, Large Picanha, 2 quarter chicken plates
Yogi B.

This past Monday, wife and I discovered this spot on yelp. We proceeded to place an order, picture below, order confirmed, delivery on its way. Yay! Lets get ready to eat. Except, when the food was delivered, we only had the 2 chicken plates, and the rest of the order was missing. Call the driver several times (uber eats), no answer, call the restaurant, got an answer, was told owner will call me back. Greg called me within 15 minutes and was so quick to offer us an apology, guaranteed that the food was packed and given to the driver, and wanted to make up for it, even though they didn't have to. Basically told me to call or text for our next meal, and he'll take care of us. Awesome. We ate the chicken that was delivered, and man! That was goooooooooodddd! So not only was the food great, but the attention to detail and customer satisfaction was exemplary. 2 days later, today, we decided to take Greg up on his offer. Texted him initially and called him later, to find out later that he was on a flight and couldn't respond. His wife, Simoni, called me instead and was aware of the situation. She also offered several apologies and wanted to make it right. She basically gave us our original order for free due to the mishap. I haven't even left my parking spot to write this review, because, well, it is just such a shock to receive this kind of service and I want to give them the credit they undoubtedly deserve. This bag of their amazing food smells so good, I might just starting picking at it on my drive. Let me tell you, even if it wasn't about the food, Greg and Simoni won a customer for life. And it doesn't hurt that the food is so "mouth-watering-ly" delicious. You can feel the love they put in their craft. Check them out! Amazing! Thank you guys!

Staying at the Hilton Culver City for the first time, I opened my trusty Yelp app to find dinner. I'm a picky foodie that opts for local businesses over chains. Sexy beans? Interesting. Brazilian. Good reviews. Score. After fumbling across several streets, I finally found the "restaurant" down an alley. It's not a restaurant. My bad for not reading more carefully. One picnic table around the side. No chairs. It's designed for Uber Eats, Door Dash, pickup, etc. You're obviously meant to wait in your car. You can order on an iPad at a window. OK, just roll with it. I ordered a Picanha, beans and rice plate, and sat down on the curb to wait. I carried my order across the street to the mall food court to have a place to sit, and unveiled my food. Very visually appealing. The steak was medium rare and juicy. The beans were perfect, with good bits of meat in them. I had greens, onion, tomato and pepper to put on my rice (along with that steak juice!) So here's my verdict; it wasn't OK. It wasn't good. It wasn't great. It was next level awesome! Everything was hot and wonderfully flavorful. The excellent reviews are well earned. 4 stars for making an old man sit on the ground for 20 minutes. A few chairs would be most welcome.

Ok let me just say-- I lived in Brazil for six months and have been searching all over LA for food that even slightly compares to the food in Brazil. And this place has THE BEST comida brasileira (brazilian food) that tastes just like the real thing!!! :))) I mean literally- the BEANS are Unbelievably delicious!! I've not found it's equal anywhere in the states. It might even be BETTER than what I tried in Brazil itself... and that was amazing already!! But....This recipe though... it's marvelous!! :)))) the feijão/feijoada (beans), the picanha (special Brazilian steak), the frango (chicken)!!! I love it all so much and crave it all the time!!! :))) Since they opened (only a couple of weeks ago) I've ordered it four different times already ;)) I truly have deep cravings for those beans and that steak!!! :))) Thanks so much everyone at Sexy Beans for being the most authentic and delicious that I've found :))) and please be prepared for me to order from y'all *at least* once a week :)))

Does the regular order of Brazilian black beans have meat in them? The extra meaty option as well as the separate vegetarian option make me think so. Thanks in advance!

But once the food arrived at our table, everything changed. Almost everything we tried was extremely salty. The empada ($4.50) was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. The coxinha and risole tasted like they had been fried in old oil and were so overcooked and burnt that they were barely edible. As a Brazilian, this was especially disappointing. When you go to a Brazilian café, you hope to enjoy some of the flavors and foods you grew up with, but unfortunately, this was nowhere close to what we expected. Our bill was around $50 for: 1 pastel, 1 coxinha, 1 risole, 4 pão de queijo, 1 orange juice, and 2 guaranás. Then came another surprise: we ordered a passion fruit dessert for $4.50, and the portion was less than half of a small cup. On top of that, you could barely taste any passion fruit. I normally understand that restaurants can have an off day, but there were simply too many problems with the food to overlook. For around $50, the quality and portions were extremely disappointing. Based on our experience today, I unfortunately cannot recommend this place. Save your time and money and look elsewhere if you're hoping for good Brazilian food.

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more We came to Bossa Nova in West LA expecting a good experience, especially because I've been to the West Hollywood location in the past and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the service at this location was extremely disappointing. We were seated and waited from 7:09 PM until 7:50 PM without receiving our food. That's approximately 41 minutes, and the lack of communication or attention from the staff was frustrating. At that point, we decided to leave without ever receiving our food. We understand that restaurants can get busy, but when customers are waiting that long, someone should at least check on the table, provide an update, or acknowledge the delay. I also remember being served complimentary bread and olive oil at the West Hollywood location years ago, which made the experience feel much more welcoming. Unfortunately, this visit felt completely different. I'm very disappointed because I genuinely wanted to enjoy my meal here. Hopefully management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the service and communication with customers.

The market table had so many delicious options, and that potato salad was especially amazing! The restaurant itself is VERY loud, so if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a conversation, this probably isn't it. My only complaint is that they kept bringing around the same cuts of meat. If you want the higher-end cuts, like ribeye or filet mignon, you have to repeatedly ask for them. For the price you're paying, I feel like those cuts should be offered just as frequently as everything else. I shouldn't have to keep requesting the premium meats when that's part of what I'm paying for! Aside from that, the food was absolutely delicious, and we really enjoyed our experience!

Went in for lunch and everything started off fine. Someone at our table asked for the bar menu, and although we weren't planning on having a long lunch, we ultimately all decided to go with the churrasco and didn't order anything from the bar menu. The meat servers were on point. They came by quickly and constantly, which is always appreciated at this type of establishment. After a while, though, our waitress stopped checking on the table. We eventually had to ask one of the meat servers to grab her so we could get drink refills. No big deal, things happen, and she came over quickly once we asked. What rubbed me the wrong way was another male server nearby who came over looking visibly annoyed and asked if we needed our server. I told him she had already taken care of us, and he just walked away without saying a word. I'd suggest approaching a table with a little better customer service, especially when the guests are simply trying to enjoy their meal. There was really no reason to bring a poor attitude over to our table. We still tipped 20% because the meat servers worked hard and I didn't want them taking a hit for the overall service. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't seem too concerned either. No thank you or acknowledgment at the end, just dropped off the check and bounced. Still a fan of the food and I've had plenty of good experiences here. Hopefully this was just an off day on the service side.

Fogo De Chao has this insane new all day happy hour menu at the bar…read more I think I like it better than their all you can eat menu! What drew me in is their $10 picahna burger. What left me wanting more is their $16 beef rib bone thing and their lobster and shrimp tacos. When you picture a burger in your head, a lot of places fall short of what that looks like. Like you either don't get a big piece of lettuce or you can't see the tomato from a visible area. Visibly, this burger looks like the ideal burger one would want with all the ingredients it should have. An added bonus is that this one is cooked with picahna instead of regular beef. Plus, it also comes with polenta fries. The bartender said a lot of people don't like the polenta fries so they upgrade to yucca instead. While I enjoyed the corn taste of the polenta fries, my friend said he didn't. For the beef rib bone, that thing was phenomenal. The meat was tender. There were bits you could scrape off the bone that were more charred. It came with I think a chimicchuri. That was just amazing. Then the lobster and shrimp tacos were really good too. I liked that they served them in lettuce as opposed to tortillas to cut down on the carb intake. While the artichoke spinach dip was good, I felt they went slightly heavy with the salt. Artichoke is already pretty salty so I think that could've been a little lighter on the salt side. I feel the prices for the all day happy hour menu were cheaper than going to like an Applebees or something, which is insane. But then again, for a restaurant like this to make a happy hour menu like that, I feel that restaurants overall may really be hurting as well. The service here is exceptionally good. The ambiance is really nice too because you're basically getting a fine dining environment at fast casual franchise prices, which is unreal. Definitely gonna make this a thing.
