OMG, Frank is the best. MacKenzie's Towing was way to convenient. They (Frank) made a terrible…read moresituation actually better. From Debert to Shearwater, and bent over backwards to make it efficient and perfectly timed for us. You'd think a situation such as a shot rear wheel bearing would be horrible, and after driving so far from Sainte-Jean, Quebec and an hour from home, MacKenzie's Towing and their awesome technician, Frank, actually made the trip home enjoyable. Timings for pick-up was quick, and Frank was there for us. He made the last hour, even with our LR4 on the flatbed, so much better. The wife and I were exhausted, and Frank was personable, polite, and just about every great adjective I can think of. The trip started in Quebec at 7am, and here I am at home, for about 40 minutes or so, and writing the best review I can think of, as he, and his employer, deserves the proper recognition. Thank you Frank. And last but least, the price was way better than one we have had from a local one from just Sackville a while back. It was fair, and for having my rig back in my yard, a great deal for the cost.

Don't take your vehicle there, you can stay home and be insulted by friends and family for free and not have to pay the $70 an hour service rate.

So I'm in Halifax for a funeral and on my way home to Ontario my engine blows. CAA recommends this place as a preferred shop...If you call CAA and they say take your car here DON'T DO IT or any of there 19 Locations.. Ask the tow truck drive where to take your car to be repaired.. JUST NOT COAST TIRE 1 - They replaced my engine but car runs like crap and they knew it and told me not to worry it will be ok (whats the cost of a tune up now and labor when for 50$ they could have replaced 6 spark plugs when it was on the floor) and set it up after replacing engine 2 - When they replaced the fluids you think they would check to make sure they are correct NOPE instead of asking them I walked next store to Esso to buy oil (BMW x3 takes 7 L to fill) 3 - Check engine light is on they told me it maybe O2 sensor or something not to worry But couldn't even put an ODB reader on it to identify the error code.. Makes me wonder do they even know what an ODB Reader is... So now I'm back in Toronto and have to go to BMW to get it fix properly after paying 5800.00 to Coast Tire to fix and repair my car.. Quality of service sucks and what I'm going to drive back to have them touch my car and screw it up even more No Way.. Save yourself and again ask the tow truck drive where to go in the long run it will save you time and money... Dan Bain

Beware!! I bought my daughter a car, It was an import (VW)…read more I saw that they worked on them and decided to take it to them as the heater wasn't working. I took it in there, told them I wanted it safe for my daughter. It also had a small drip leak in one of the valve cover gaskets, so I asked them to replace this at the same time. I told them that I had already bled the system, so it wasn't air in the lines. They called me a few weeks later when they had the time to look at it, telling me that they did the valve cover gaskets, and bled the heating system but it still didn't have heat. I had already bled the system myself... The bill was 600+ dollars and all they did was what I already had done. I figured what the hell, Im going to get it out of there and take it to someone who knows what they are doing with Volkswagons. I went and picked it up with my daughter she was going to drive it, and I was going to drive my car back home, but the windshield was all frozen on the inside, so I decided to give her my car to drive and I scraped off the windshield and drove the VW. Its a good thing as the car caught fire just before I got it to my driveway. I jumped out of the car, and popped the hood to find the engine compartment in flames. I put it out and called them, they said they were sending a tow truck. The tow truck arrived and took the car away. As I didn't trust them at all now, I went over there and watched while they looked the car over. They immediately said it wasn't their fault, but "Don't worry, the owner spent a long time building a reputation for honest and fair treatment of customers" They basically said we would be looking after it. A very quick look on the internet told me that there is a very very common reason why the valve cover gaskets go on these cars, and that whenever they are done the root cause also has to be taken care of or another more serious failure will occur. This is what happened here. They replaced the gasket, but the problem was pressure from the PCV system, which was clogged causing the gasket to go, when they fixed it, and didn't even bother to check the engine pressure. When I drove it out of there, it blew a cam seal plug from the back of the engine, causing the engine oil to spew out the back of the engine all over the exhaust system causing the fire. I went to pick up the car today, they charged me for the second repair, and then told me that the other side cam seal plug was now leaking, but it "should be fine". I got my car home to find it smoking again. I am out almost 800 bucks, still have no heat, am being told its my fault, not theirs and I now have to take it to someone who knows that they are doing. Do not take your vehicle here, unless you want to put your family in harms way.
