This is one of the last real fabric stores left in Mid-America. They have fabric you can use to sew…read moreactual garments by just quilting fabrics. Wool, cotton and rayon knits, boucle, suitngs, mattress ticking in colors, fabric for fancy kids clothes, glamorous fabrics for gowns, you name it! The quilting cotton selection is huge and they are so much better quality than the now defunct JoAns, Hobby Libby, or Walmart. The button and lace selection is amazing. The folks working there are so helpful and nice! I cannot say enough good things about this store. I just wish there were more local fabric stores. I am near Calico Country and they have about 1/4 of the selection of quilting cottons and not much in terms of garment sewing.

My friend and I are on a road trip, and we were heading to Paducah for a well-known fabric store…read more Then we decided we were too lazy to drive an additional three hours and found this fabulous store. When we walked in, we were greeted by several employees, and even offered a tour of the store so we would know where to look for different items. We were feeling as if we were let loose in a candy store as if we were kids. I found several items I had not seen in other fabric stores. The store is very well laid out, organized clean, and the sales help was exceptional. I do not feel cheated out of going to Paducah, as I am bringing home several really great fabrics to work with crafts and garment construction. I would recommend the store to anyone who likes to sew. The store is also a babylock dealer so it's nice to see familiar machines in the store as you walk in . Every item that you buy is actually recorded with your name and phone number so in case you do need more items they can ship it to you. I thought that was a pretty good touch. Highly recommend

The most difficult person to talk to. The owner wanted me to leave the store 15 minutes before…read moreclosing because she needed to run an errand. Talked down to me as if I didn't have have any idea how to choose fabrics (I've done 5 homes in the last 10 years working with and without designers and one of my homes was featured in national magazines in a 10 page spread.) My degree is in textiles and design. It was the weirdest experience I have ever had in a retail situation. She did not want to show me fabrics until I sent her a picture of the chair I was recovering but when I said I would she acted like it was highly unusual that she would give a number out that it could be texted to (I live in another state and was there at this second interaction). She wanted to argue with me about what a color is even called when I described it as something else even though again, my degree is in textiles and I owned a printing company for years where color is kind of my thing. The vibe was terribly off here and I felt totally micromanaged and talked down to. I felt the same thing the first time and left very uncomfortable but thought it was just a bad day but today was no different. Unfortunately there are few retail upholstery fabric shops (I live in 3 states and am always looking for fabric as I also collect vintage textiles) so it is hard to find one at all beyond the Hobby Lobbies of the world and ordering online just isn't the same. The selection of in stock bolts here are not much more than Hobby Lobby as far as quantity as it is quite limited and the sample books are arranged in a manner that you will need assistance. Pricing is not marked on the books and the first one I was interested in she told me was 3 years old and probably not available so not even sure why it was out. I had sent someone over to pick up a sample and after the latest strange conversation I realized this was going to be as difficult to shop here as it would be to fly to NY and shop fabric there so I turned them around. Just booked my flight to NYC. Will be easier.
