This is one of the last real fabric stores left in Mid-America. They have fabric you can use to sew actual garments by just quilting fabrics. Wool, cotton and rayon knits, boucle, suitngs, mattress ticking in colors, fabric for fancy kids clothes, glamorous fabrics for gowns, you name it! The quilting cotton selection is huge and they are so much better quality than the now defunct JoAns, Hobby Libby, or Walmart. The button and lace selection is amazing. The folks working there are so helpful and nice! I cannot say enough good things about this store. I just wish there were more local fabric stores. I am near Calico Country and they have about 1/4 of the selection of quilting cottons and not much in terms of garment sewing. read more

My friend and I are on a road trip, and we were heading to Paducah for a well-known fabric store. Then we decided we were too lazy to drive an additional three hours and found this fabulous store. When we walked in, we were greeted by several employees, and even offered a tour of the store so we would know where to look for different items. We were feeling as if we were let loose in a candy store as if we were kids. I found several items I had not seen in other fabric stores. The store is very well laid out, organized clean, and the sales help was exceptional. I do not feel cheated out of going to Paducah, as I am bringing home several really great fabrics to work with crafts and garment construction. I would recommend the store to anyone who likes to sew. The store is also a babylock dealer so it's nice to see familiar machines in the store as you walk in . Every item that you buy is actually recorded with your name and phone number so in case you do need more items they can ship it to you. I thought that was a pretty good touch. I was in the middle of a quilt using up the last of one of my favorite fabrics of all time; a long discontinued Alexander Henry, And I loved it so much I decided I wanted it to be big enough for my bed. But it seems near impossible to find that exact fabric except on Etsy were people were charging $20 for a half yard piece and I needed at least 2 yards continuous. I stumbled across this website in my searching and they had the exact fabrics that I needed for a totally reasonable price. I ordered it, And then found a second fabric I also wanted to order but the website wouldn't let me order the whole piece so I called first thing in the morning. The young man who answered the phone quickly found the exact fabric I wanted measured it for me, added it to the order I had placed the night before, which he had already packaged, and then even combined shipping for me! Shipping was fast and I am so in love with these lovely fabrics! I would love to be in the area to visit this fabric store! read more

the only reason that I gave one star is because the young sales woman, not the owner, is wonderful. I'm surprised she continues to work there as the female owner is incredibly rude to this young woman. The female owner is rude, dismissive, and talks over potential customers and her employees. I was looking into buying a very expensive machine, the female owner's behavior convinced me to spend my money elsewhere. I bought a babylock, but not from that store and it was 100% due the female owner's attitude and behavior towards myself and her employee. I'll spend 2.5 hours traveling to a reputable Babylock dealer for service when needed vs a five minute drive to Lets Sew, that's how bad my experience was. read more

I was back in the store just after Christmas and it is fantastic. Their selection of sewing machines ran the range from starter machines to large advanced embroidery machines. The fabric selection is second to none. They sheer amount of square footage they've dedicated to fabric is unreal. The place is huge and carries something for almost any clothing project I can think of. I was able to get the right color and fibers for my Jedi Cosplay outfit as well as some nice dress shirt materials. Buttons? They've got it by the boat load. One of the long walls in the store is almost entirely dedicated to them. Everything from unadorned horn buttons to fancy plated and mother of pearl looking buttons. A shopper I met in there found the wool and buttons he needed for his Colonial era Revolutionary War reenactment costume. Truly Let's Sew is a wonderland of fabric. Update: 12/29 I'm back in town and found just what I needed for a pajama project to make my girlfriend! Cute little winter themed cotton with penguins on skies. BEST EXPERIENCE!!! I can not say enough good things about the ladies at Let's Sew. I bought a used machine from an individual and knew nothing about the machine and had no idea what I was doing! I took a one-on-one class with Tiffany and she was so helpful. When I left the shop that day I could actually use my machine!! But her helpfulness did not stop there! I had 35 towels to embroider for Christmas for a customer and without Tiffany's help and guidance I would have never finished them. But it still doesn't stop there! There was this Sherpa. Someone wanted it monogrammed for a Christmas gift. It was the Friday before Christmas and it was a nightmare. Then there was an issue with my machine. Tiffany and the owner, I believe, (I am horrible with names, I'm sorry) stayed with me for 3 hours after closing to help get this shirt fixed and finished. Then there is Jim. He had looked and looked at my machine and tried to help figure it out. Since Christmas he has serviced it for me. All I can say is I am VERY grateful for these 3 people in the last few months. My machine would have probably ended up in the front yard if it wasn't for them. I want to thank them for putting up with me, my questions, and my stubborn machine. And I hope this year is smoother with me learning my machine. read more

This store has beautiful, high-quality fabrics and the staff is knowledgeable (other than the young man who operates the cash register who admitted to me he knew nothing about sewing). But woe to the customer who encounters a problem with a purchase, because they have a strict no-returns policy, and that policy applies even for faulty merchandise. I had an expensive ($8) spool of thread from them that kept breaking on my machine so I went to Joann's and bought a spool that worked fine. The young man at Let's Sew told me that they could do nothing for me because I had "used it." Not sure how I would know it was faulty without having used it. I challenged his ridiculous reasoning and he asked for help from a woman I assume was a manager. I showed her how easily the thread broke and she even agreed it should not break so easily. But she said all she could do was give me another spool of the exact same thread. The replacement thread proved to break just as easily as the spool I had purchased. Sorry, they said. There was nothing more they could do for me - but they might inform the manufacturer of the problem. Now that's a policy that works - for them. I paid them $8 for a product that is junk and of no use to me. They know the merchandise is of terrible quality and for all I know will continue to sell it to unsuspecting customers. And they still have my $8. read more

This shop is loaded with lovely, quality fabrics (that are a bit pricey) and all the sewing accessories you could ever need. Unfortunately the owner can be very rude and disrespectful to the customers. I had a terrible experience there today and will never go back. read more

I was in the shop this week just to look at the fabric and try to get some inspiration for a quilt I want to make. This store has much to inspire! The fabric selection is fantastic. Such beautiful fabrics in all colors and patterns. Yes, its a bit expensive, but this is quality fabric. There are many sewing and embroidery machines available for sale as well as some refurbished used models. They also have classes to help broaden your skills. Every time I go to Evansville I visit this shop. The staff has always been helpful and patient. I was looking for a floral knit not too long ago and the lady working with me even went to the back to pull a ton of fabric for me to look at. The store has a lot of different and beautiful fabrics that I have not seen in other stores, but you pay for these in the cost of the fabrics. Customer service is not the best, the lady that was "helping" me could not find the fabrics I wanted even though I had photos and names of each fabric. I ended up finding every single bolt myself. I doubt I will ever go into this store again because of the owner. I saw a fabric I wanted at a price they had on their website. The owner could not explain why the price was $2.50 per yard less than what they were selling it for and she would not honor the price on the website. I honestly would have left the store without that fabric and gotten it elsewhere since it wasn't a "specialty" pattern I needed for my project, but I probably would have spent more in gas and time for my inconvenience in going to a different local store. The owner's integrity is lacking and who really wants to do business with someone like that? Not me. read more

This quilt shop has a truly phenomenal selection of fabric. The shop is very big with several samples to view. Although the shop has a wonderful variety of fabrics, their customer service is one of the worst I have ever encountered at a quilt shop. In addition to the pathetic customer service, they do not have a sale or clearance section in the shop. Although I am an avid quilter and understand that high quality fabric is expensive, I also expect to receive quality customer service in exchange for the higher prices of a quilt shop. I truly thought that maybe I caught the shop on a bad day, so I visited the shop again with the same result. In addition, I was informed that there was no pattern or kit available for the one sample that I was interested in. I do not often write reviews, but I do feel it is pertinent to write this review as people do make special trips to view such beautiful shops. Definitely think twice before making a trip to view this shop if customer service is important to you, as you can buy the same fabrics for much cheaper online. read more
