Simon did a fantastic job w/my 2 sewing machines...He is very knowledgeable and takes a lot of time…read moreto show me exactly what went wrong w/my machines. He explained how to maintain it in between getting them professionally serviced! So happy that he and Aida are nearby in the next town over. I would recommend his services to anyone looking to learn how to use their machines and keep them working properly! Thank you Simon!! Vicki B.

Disturbing and Uncomfortable Experience -- Exercise Caution…read more I had a deeply disappointing and unsettling experience with this sewing machine repair business and ultimately decided not to proceed with the repairs, despite having prepaid the day before. My sewing machine was purchased in May of this year. After making the payment, I discovered overnight that the necessary repairs were fully covered by the manufacturer. I explained this to the owner and requested a refund, making it clear that my decision was not personal and was not a reflection of him or his business. Since no repair work had been performed, I believed it was reasonable to request a full refund. Instead, the owner attempted to charge me two processing fees: one for the original transaction and another for processing the refund. When I questioned these charges and explained that I was requesting my full payment back because no work had been done, the interaction escalated in a way that I found extremely troubling. The owner repeatedly insisted that I was calling him a liar in regards to his processing fees, which was not what I was saying. He also repeatedly stated, "I never expected this from you." I did not understand what he meant by that statement, and given the increasingly uncomfortable atmosphere, I chose not to question him further because I did not want to provoke or escalate the situation. What concerned me most was that the owner refused to move away from the exit door, effectively blocking my way out while continuing the confrontation. I explicitly told him more than 5 times, that I felt physically uncomfortable with him blocking the door and that I wanted to leave. I was genuinely afraid and concerned that the encounter might escalate further. Throughout the interaction, I used every de-escalation and communication skill I could to remain calm, respectful, and reasonable. I explained that my refund request was based solely on discovering that the manufacturer would cover the repairs, not on any personal grievance against him. Nevertheless, he appeared to take my decision personally, and what should have been a straightforward business transaction became an extremely intolerable and distressing encounter. I understand that business owners may be disappointed when a customer cancels a service, but customers should be able to change their minds, ask questions about fees, and request refunds without being made to feel intimidated or physically uncomfortable. A disagreement over money should never result in a customer feeling afraid or restricted from leaving. I am immensely thankful that I was able to use communication techniques to saledown the situation. He ultimately agreed to the full refund and summoned his wife to help him process the refund. They were trying to void the transaction and after several minutes I suggested to refund the transaction instead of void as the initial charge was made the day before. I would caution anyone considering doing business with this shop, particularly women visiting the owner's home-based business, to exercise caution. Based on my personal experience, I was deeply uncomfortable with how this situation was handled. No customer should have to navigate a confrontation of this nature simply because they requested a refund for services that had not been performed. I hope the owner recognizes the importance of maintaining professional boundaries, respecting a customer's right to leave, and handling disagreements without creating an atmosphere of intimidation or fear.
