I want to start by saying that the alterations to my wedding dress were done very well. In the end, I was happy with the finished product. My concerns are not about the quality of the workmanship, but rather about the overall customer experience. After it was explained that I would be driving more than four hours from another city for my scheduled appointment, I received a text about an hour before my arrival--when I let her know I was an hour away--asking if I could move my 11:00 a.m. appointment to noon. Although it was inconvenient, I agreed, found something to do nearby, and didn't make an issue of it. When I arrived, however, she seemed to have forgotten that I was the bride. That immediately made me feel uneasy. I then changed into my gown in a very cramped area that was difficult to navigate, especially since I'm not a small person and my dress has a long train. Despite that, we discussed all of the alterations, and everything seemed to be moving forward. As I was leaving, I was informed that fittings lasting longer than 10 minutes incurred an additional $25 fee. While I wasn't thrilled to learn that after the fact, she spent a considerable amount of time with me and came highly recommended, so I agreed to pay it. The following day, I received a text explaining that she had misplaced my original ticket and forgotten to take a photo of it. We had to go over all of the alteration details again so she could create a new ticket. When she did, I noticed an additional charge that hadn't been on the original. I pointed it out, and she corrected it, but by then I was becoming increasingly concerned about how disorganized the process seemed. Another concern was the changing completion date. During my appointment, I was told my dress would be ready around mid-July. On the replacement ticket, however, the timeframe had changed to late July or early August. Since my wedding isn't until October, I accepted the change. I later explained that I would already be in town at the end of August and asked if the dress could be ready then. Instead of confirming, I was told she couldn't commit and that I should contact her a few days beforehand to "see what we could work out." Given the distance I had to travel, this uncertainty only added to my anxiety. Eventually, I had my wedding coordinator reach out on my behalf to see if arrangements could be made. I was then asked to make a separate special trip in late July for the final fitting. Because I had become so anxious about the entire experience, I decided to skip the final fitting altogether and pickup my dress as-is. As a result, there were a few minor details left unfinished when I picked up my dress. Unfortunately, I was still charged for those unfinished alterations. I was later offered a refund for those specific charges, but only if I agreed not to leave a negative review. That was the most disappointing part of my experience. Offering a refund in exchange for withholding an honest review felt unprofessional and inappropriate. While I truly appreciate the quality of the alterations themselves, professionalism, organization, and communication are just as important when entrusting someone with such an important garment. For those reasons, I cannot personally recommend this business. read more

It has been a positive experience for me with Sew Padre Alterations. Prices have been disclosed in advance in writing. I took Rebecca five pairs of work/suit pants in July 2026. They needed to be hemmed and some of them needed to be taken in. I've only worn one of the pair so far, but it fits wonderfully. I did try on the rest of them on there so I don't expect any problems. The date that they would be ready for pick up was also clearly communicated to me. She did accommodate later times for me when she could pin the pants on me, after my work hours, and also a time for me to pick them up when finished, after my work hours. I have since dropped off a suit jacket that she pinned and so I'll update my review after I receive it back. The arms on my jacket are too long and she is shortening them for me. Yes, I recommend Sew Padre Alterations. read more

Avoid at ALL cost. I am also concerned as to how this business has 5 stars. She is unprofessional and should have her business license revoked. Aside from harassment, she price gouges clients And DOES NOT answer her phone. She also makes you put your stuff inside a bag outside her front door and rip a piece of paper off a notebook and tuck it inside. Very odd, not secure, and did not like folding my freshly presssed and dry cleaned uniforms in a grocery bag. She also expects you to pin everything where you want it which I have never had a tailor request. I am accustom to talking to the tailor in person for alterations And them doing the work. Nonetheless, I had asked if she could sew on some insignias on a 4 military blouses by end of week and she agreed. The NEX was busy and only charges $1 to strip old patches and $3.50 to sew on new ($18 total). I assumed it would be similar (my mistake). I was shocked to get a bill for $95! She charged me $15/blouse+$35 expedited fee she never disclosed. I tried calling to her to resolve this civilly and she refused to answer. I was shocked by this and refused to pay and she said she was going to hold my clothes hostage until I payed. I eventually paid what she was demanding (a reduced rate of $65--still ridiculous) just to get my stuff back. I discontinued contact with her and She continued to harass me well into the evening after 9pm. I meant no illwill towards this woman. I was simply shocked by an astronomical and arbitrary price she charged me. That is my mistake for trusting she would charge a reasonable amount. It does not excuse her behavior or business practices. read more

My daughter and I were struggling to find someone to alter her prom dress, with only 1.5 weeks until the event. Another seamstress backed out of the job last minute because the lace on the dress intimidated her. Luckily, Rebecca was able to squeeze us in and expedite our order so that we had the dress before the day of prom. When facing the issue of the dress also being a tad too snug, she had the wonderful suggestion of adding a lace up corset, which totally elevated the look of the dress. She did an amazing job! Rebecca is not only talented but very easy to work with. The dress looked beautiful and most importantly, my daughter felt beautiful in it. Her smile was worth every penny! Thank you, Rebecca!! read more

I'm concerned at how this business has a 5 star rating unless the owner can erase the unfavorable ratings. I had a horrible experience with Rebecca and her lack of skill/and experience on hemming my daughters prom dress. I'm only sharing now because I just found out my neighbor had a similar experience with Rebecca Cason. We both selected Sew Padre Alterations because of the reviews and because she was conveniently located on the island. If you're needing alterations I would think twice before trusting this person with your garments. read more
