Convenient Location & Well-Organized Facility…read more I found out about this college when I took my State Exam here. Out of all the options, this was the closest one to me. The building is single-level and well laid out. They have an office, classroom, two labs, a lounge, a kitchenette, and two restrooms. Everything was neat, clean, and organized. On exam day, there were two proctors who split us into two groups, which helped things move quickly and efficiently. Plenty of parking available, and the location is easy to find -- no stress getting there.

We belong to the medical profession within our family. My daughter has expressed her desire to…read morebecome a nurse. One piece of advice I have is for her to start at an entry-level position. I reached out to Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and my wife contacted Kern Hospital for information, and both institutions recommended Cellan Central Valley College. As it turns out, this college offers a suitable and accessible program for my daughter, as she is currently studying the prerequisites for nursing. She successfully completed her Certified Nursing degree within a period of two months. It is a well-known fact that being a hospital CNA is an extremely challenging and physically demanding job. However, with their thorough understanding of the hospital environment, these individuals are equipped with the necessary knowledge to handle the job in a compassionate, skilled, and professional manner. It is important to note that the top 10 candidates are guaranteed employment in the local hospital. Nevertheless, this institution ( Cellan Valley College) plays a vital role in assisting young individuals in starting their lives, and they should be commended for their efforts. Cellan Valley College deserves recognition for its contributions to the community, and we hope to see more noble establishments like this in the future. The people involved in this initiative are truly deserving of praise. Special thanks to Ms. Vena RN, for shaping skills, knowledge, attitude, and above all the wholistic support. More power to this institution.

Jennifer is an angel. I brought my 1 year old son to the daycare and right away you can just feel how much all these ladies feel about these children and babies who attend this daycare. I made the EASIEST decision to withdraw my child from Childtime today, September 18, 2025 and I…read morestrongly urge other parents to do their research before enrolling. Please do not assume that paying a high tuition will guarantee your child better care--unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The only staff member who truly showed a teacher's spirit and a genuine, caring heart was Ms. Maria. She was the main reason we decided to enroll, as she is compassionate, nurturing, and clearly dedicated to children. Unfortunately, she was not my son's full-time teacher, and the quality of care he received otherwise was extremely disappointing. During his first week, when he was understandably adjusting to a new environment, he was not met with patience or understanding. Instead, he was ignored and even told that his emotions and behavior were an "inconvenience." Children--especially little ones experiencing big feelings--deserve patience, empathy, and guidance, not dismissal. The breaking point for us was an incident I personally witnessed on the school's live feed today: * My son and another child accidentally ran into each other and fell. Rather than addressing the situation fairly, the substitute teacher immediately singled my son out, instructed him to sit down, and then took away the small toys he had been playing with--leaving him visibly upset and confused. * Instead of comforting him, she ignored him. When she finally engaged, it was to point to the kiddo my son could go apologize--though he had done nothing wrong. * To make matters worse, when I called to address this with the front desk, I was hung up on. When I arrived at the school, the story I was told did not match what I had seen on the live feed. The substitute even responded to me with a message saying, "I apologize if it looked misleading," attempting to downplay what I CLEARLY observed. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially at a school where parents are paying nearly $300 per week for part-time care only 3 days a week. Every child is different and some need more support than others, but ignoring or mis handwriting their emotions is not the answer. Teachers should meet children with patience, love, and respect--not frustration and dismissal. IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES! BUT ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARR PAYING THIS MUCH. My family is deeply disappointed by this experience. As a parent, my heart hurts knowing that my child was treated this way. I sincerely hope that Childtime takes this feedback seriously and reflects on the quality of care they are providing. Children deserve better.

Both my boys attended this elementary, with my older son attending in 2008 as a 3rd grader and my…read moreyounger son just finishing his last year here this past school year, he actually spent all 7yrs of his elementary years here. Love that this school promotes and pushes the kids educationally and makes their learning experience fun. This is one of the only schools that have the G.A.T.E. program from my understanding and they have to bus the other kids from neighboring schools to attend. This school is one of the top elementary schools in Bakersfield, from the kids scoring really well academically to the parents playing a huge role being involved with tons of activities and with teachers participating and pushing the kids to be successful. It's a really clean school and the school strives to stay safe and to keep clean. I have had a lot of ups and downs here, my older son is deaf and most of his years attending Stockdale was always positive, but there were a few teachers who you can tell did not want to spend time with a disabled child or "deal" with it. My son was too advanced to be in a mentally challenged class, but not advanced enough to be in a regular class, so he struggled a lot being in a regular course class. On a positive note, there were many teachers that are amazing people and take the time to create an atmosphere where education was extremely important and there were more teachers like that in this school rather than the bad apples here. I have never had any similar situations with my younger son as he is always academically advanced and that part gives me a lot of mixed feelings. I feel like he had a more fair experience because he wasn't disabled and he did not have to have a whole lot of one on one since he was advanced, but I honestly can't judge that part and say that's why he may have had a better experience because people who have a child with a disability always feel shorted by everyone, so maybe it's just me. Both my kids absolutely loved this school and has had a positive experience here for the most part. Both kids had an opportunity to participate in numerous activities (Band, Chorus, Battle of the Books, Math Field Day, Track and many more). Their most memorable moments had to be their last year when they both went to Camp Keep to experience the outdoors science and education. This gave them an opportunity to gain closer relationships with their peers and to learn a little bit of independence. The school has prevented a lot of traffic problems by utilizing their valet in the front of the school or drop offs at the back of the school, the only thing that still bothers me til this day is when parents drop off their kids at the back of the school, the principal/teachers have had this rule about parents parking in the middle of the road and letting their kids out instead of safely parking and letting their kids out. The principal/teachers have had multiple meetings with parents letting them know this is illegal, yet I honestly feel the principal only allows certain parents to still do that, my suggestion is to make sure your child and everyone elses kids are safe. If you plan to allow your kids to attend Stockdale Elementary, I believe your kids will have one of the best educations in Bakersfield for a public school.

It's a shame because she's essentially the face of the school but until she either fixes her attitude or they get someone with actual people skills in her place the image she gives the school won't be good. It also concerns me as a parent that if she talks like that to parents how does she treat or talk to the kids? Crazy that her attitude would be tolerated in an elementary setting.
