First time ever coming here. Never will again. Official title is Club Seventy Seven, but we went…read morefor my best friends 21st birthday party. Staff: Very rude. Bartenders were okay. Opening hours: We were on the guest list which requires us there before 11:30pm. We ended up showing up ten minutes after open time (10:10pm) and they wouldn't let us in. Experience: We came back ten minutes later and they still wouldn't let us in and told one of our friends that they looked like a wh*re. Basically called her naked. Then told my other friend that if she is cold she should have brought a coat. She didn't because we were unaware if there would be a coat check, didn't want it to be stolen if there were and thought they would let us in since we came at the proper time. When they finally let us in, one of my friends talked to the worker about how she felt and the worker said "I didn't know it would be taken as rude", like what? it was also very empty and there weren't 3 rooms as it was promised there would be online. We didn't even see the mechanical bull. Also didn't play the best music. We went somewhere else to celebrate but this club took down the happy mood for my best friends birthday Overall: Will never come again and advise you do the same if you are trying to celebrate something like a birthday unless you want the vibe ruined

Location: On Catherine St in Hamilton. Parking directly across from the club costs $2.50…read more Quality and Price: Cover is $5. Lovely atmosphere and decor... but it pretty much ends there. On a Saturday night, it wasn't packed at all. Very few people and the dress code was super casual. Bull rides cost $5 each. Played pop country all night. Service: As a theme bar and club with a mechanical bull and poles, we were thoroughly disappointed when our group of professional pole fitness instructors were told that the poles were for "looks only" and our "feet were not allowed to leave the stage". Not only that, our girls had cat ears and a bejeweled tank top on that said "security" in sparkles - but they were told to turn the shirt inside-out or wear a Dirty Dog Saloon t-shirt. Other than us, NO one was on the poles that night. Then, during bar dancing, our girls were told not to pull on the overhead bars (when other girls were doing it before and after us). We felt nit-picked at and left the building shortly after. Tim the General Manager would have been okay with us on the pole, but owner had final say (which was a no), but then didn't hesitate to try to strike up a future "business" networking speech. Tacky. Overall: Would not return again, would not recommend. A total buzz kill bar. I rate it a 1/5 for decor.

Edited a minute ago New…read moreUpon entering the establishment, the security guard took our IDs and he was holding a high-alcohol content beer, Hayburner, in one hand, and holding our ID's with the other. He seemed angry when my brother asked if our ID's had to be scanned, and really seemed to snap at my brother, but we shrugged it off and he scanned them and we went on with our night. Throughout the night, the security guard continued drinking these Hayburners. My brother and I were enjoying our evening, had not once had any issue with another patron or the bar, and we were in mid-conversation about piano, when I felt the guard standing behind me. He was just standing behind me, staring my brother down. It was a scary feeling. My brother, who has worked in the industry for 20 years, asked if everything was okay. The security guard approached my brother and started pushing him saying "Everything is okay with me is everything okay with you??" And my brother was walking backwards trying to de-escalate this seemingly intoxicated security guard. That's when I watched him grab my brother by both shoulders and push him backwards across the entire length of the bar, knocking him into people and objects, eventually pushing him out of the door. He even grabbed another guy and shoved him so hard against the wall that that guys beer went flying and he had purple and blue bruises from his grab. I desperately tried for the other woman security guard to understand he had just been assaulted and had done nothing wrong. She seemed to nod like she had seen this before, but wasn't going to do anything about it. My sister and I were astounded at the actions of this man. That's when he shoved me, a mid thirties woman not even half his size. Even after we were walking away from the bar, this security guard stood outside yelling towards us that he, direct quote, was going to "break our f***ng necks". This is negligence on the bar's behalf, for allowing an intoxicated security guard to a$$ault patrons. We immediately filed a police report, and they requested the video footage from the bar. The bar refused to provide any of the footage. Usually, bars who have nothing to hide are quick to comply- which was very telling in this case. We were never once asked to leave. We were just blind-sighted. I immediately called the bar after the incident and one of the owners, Amanda, who was tending the bar and witnessed the entire thing, cheerfully answered the phone. She had served my brother with no issue. I let her know her security guard had just assaulted us, and she said "ok?" And nothing further. This place does not give a rip about anyone's safety, especially not women's. It has been weeks and I'm still recovering from the pain of this night. Beware for your safety, women. I did what I could, but their actions will likely result in someone getting seriously hurt.

Unisex bathroom. I wish there was a hook! They do have an area for urinals as well.

When we arrived we noticed there were almost no cars in the parking lot, so we weren't completely shocked to discover there were almost no people inside this amazing space. We decided to give it some time, and we waited until almost midnight, but only three or four small groups filtered in (and 75% of them went over to the Latin-inspired club on the other side). The music was great, and exactly what you'd expect from a 70s/80s club, but there was no one to dance to it. The drinks weren't cheap, but again, if there would have been a crowd to dance, it would be a price worth paying. Same goes for the cover charge - we would have gladly paid to join the party had there been one. We felt like we found the holy grail in our quest to find a perfect 80s dance club based on the looks, but like the grail, maybe the most of us Gen Xers are becoming relics who are too old to go out and enjoy this amazing space that harkens back to our prime young adult years.

I remember the $15 charge, which is ridiculous, because youre not getting anything worth $15 in terms of service or ambience. My real beef is accidentally leaving through the turnstile to smoke, immediately turning around, and without a word, the bouncer sliding the "$15 cover charge" sign in front of me to get back in. Cant say I'd ever go back.

Never thought that an evening with family and friends could turn out so great! I had people of all ages and we had great of a night.
