I lived in Oxford from April 2018-June 2019, this was the only real barber shop in town at the…read moretime. New to the town and needed to find a barber ASAP. I went for the first time asking for a mid-fade, older blonde female in the middle was the only person available. So I went to her, she quickly and a little rough did the haircut. Definitely was not a fade at all and knocked it out in less than 10 minutes. The fastest haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I was surprised and definitely a little disappointed. I just didn't say anything and took what I got. She was quiet and didn't talk much, so I wasn't sure if she was having a bad day or that's her normal self, but that was the last time I went to her for a haircut. After that, there was a younger bigger white gentleman with a nice beard to the right of her that I went to after. every time I went and got perfect service from him. I don't remember his name. Cool and talkative. I eventually caught on, that she was always available for a cut and people would tell her "I'll just wait for him". So clearly it wasn't just me. After Moving back to California, I always think about him and the shop and hope they're doing well because again the only barber I went too in Oxford.

This business is easy to find, right on the main drag of Highway 64. My instructions were for a…read moreregular cut, short, taper the back close, and shave my neck and behind my ears with a straight razor. The barber did a good job on the basic cut but balked when it came to shaving with a straight razor. The job was continued by a barber named Stacy (the other girls called her "Mom") who overheard our conversation and said that she knew exactly what I was requesting and could do it. Overall, they did what the barbers in Memphis could not, or would not do, give an old-fashioned haircut. The price was right, too, $20. This business was previously called Rick's Barber Shop and has been taken over by women. Apparently no men on staff.
