We were searching for about a month for a company to tune our newly acquired piano, & we are so happy we stumbled upon Seven Octave. Michael Chung spent nearly two full hours tuning our spinet piano. He wasn't rushed, he was incredibly thorough, and he clearly takes a lot of pride in his work. He explained everything he was going to be doing in a way that was easy to understand, and his attention to detail really stood out. You can tell he knows pianos inside and out. Pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered to come back in a month for a free touch-up, which we really appreciated. Just a heads up: he doesn't accept credit cards and he's definitely in high demand, so it may take a little patience to get on his schedule. Neither were a big issue for us, but good to know in advance. Broke our Piano and didn't come back to fix it. Mr Chung wants more money to fix the thing that he broke. Poor service. I do not recommend.

Michael Chung came in, all business. He was friendly, polite and completely professional. As he worked tuning my piano (that had not been tuned in many years , given to me for the cost to deliver it) He explained areas tha might cause problems down the road, but for right now a tuning would do. He didn't try to sell me on expensive repairs that I don't need at this point, nor did he try to sell me a new piano. I will definately be using Mr. Chung again! read more

Sound is everything to me and Mr. Chung truly understands the nuances of sound and how to bring them out from a piano. I once had a tuner from Steinway come to tune a piano and he left it sounding worse than before he came. I asked for a brighter sound on a few keys that sounded duller than the rest to my ear. They ended up sounding so tinny and harsh that it made me cringe every time I hit those notes. It was so grating that I actually paid for another tuning by Mr. Chung. He came and fixed it (less expensive than Steinway too!) and the piano finally sounded the way I wanted. That's when I realized that all tuners are not alike and Mr. Chung is in a different class--above even the official Steinway tuners. From then on, he has tuned my pianos for years and there is no one else I trust to bring out the sound I want. He is responsive to feedback and really works with me to achieve that sound. Michael Chung is a remarkable piano tuner. He has been tuning all our pianos for years, and is reliable, trustworthy, reasonable, but most of all he is a master technician. He restored my Petof piano to eliminate the hard hammering sound and now it plays so beautifully and eloquently! I highly recommend him to anyone! read more
