If I could give more than 5 stars I would. My husband and I had an issue with TD Bank, where they…read moredecided to de-market our entire bank accounts with them, including our credit cards, after decades of patronage. At the time, we were about 5 business days away from closing on our house purchase - thankfully our mortgage wasn't with TD, so we went to RBC late afternoon, explained our situation, and Amanda helped us open up new accounts, gave us new PAD forms to give to our employers, etc. and sorted us out VERY quickly. We were able to transfer our funds from TD to RBC right away. From the moment we stepped into this branch we felt welcomed, all off the employees were amazing, and we are happy to call RBC our new banking home. We are so thankful for Amanda and her team!

This is the most pathetic banking system I ever saw with the Scotiabank. I am disabled and their tellers can't even do a wire transfer efficiently. Their assistant manager is a liar manipulator and is backed up by his manager. They work as a team to screw you at this store. Please feel free to contact me at any time. 780-680-3132 I will verify all communication and their emails to show that this bank is the biggest piece of s*** I've ever seen. Please do not open an account with them. You may end up with problems that you do not deserve

After seven years of being a loyal customer of Scotiabank, I have decided to terminate all my…read moreaccounts following an appalling experience with the customer service at the Fort Saskatchewan branch (9392 Southfort Dr, Fort Saskatchewan, AB T8L 0C5). The Assistant Manager, Tomy (or Terry), displayed a level of unprofessionalism that is utterly unacceptable. For the past three days, I have been working with Scotiabank customer service over the phone to open a First Home Savings Account (FHSA), transfer funds into it, and finally withdraw the money. However, at the last moment, I was informed that I needed to visit the branch for the withdrawal--information that was never communicated when the account was opened or the funds were deposited. This lack of transparency created a situation where both I and my funds were effectively trapped, jeopardizing my ability to make a down payment on my first home. I scheduled an appointment with Aditya at the Fort Saskatchewan branch and was advised to call or email the branch to inform them of my late arrival due to my job ending at 4:30 PM and the branch closing at 5 PM. Despite leaving a voicemail for Tomy, which went unanswered, Aditya assured me over email that he could assist me even if I arrived at the very last minute. On my way to the branch, road construction caused a slight delay, resulting in my arrival at 5:02 PM. I notified Aditya about the delay via email while en route. Despite the urgency of my situation, I was denied entry upon arrival. I offered to sign the necessary form and leave it at the door or pass it under the door, but they refused to accommodate me. When I requested to speak with Tomy, the Assistant Manager, he exhibited an appalling lack of empathy and professionalism. He bluntly told me that since I was two minutes late, there was nothing he would do to help. He suggested that I should have come during my lunch break, ignoring the fact that my employer would not allow a 30-minute commute each way. His audacious comment that I should plan my life better was both insulting and condescending. Tomy's behavior was not only rude and arrogant but also indicative of a fundamental failure in customer service. As an Assistant Manager, he should embody the principles of client care, yet his actions were the complete opposite. Scotiabank was my first bank in Canada, and after seven years of loyalty, I was shown by Tomy that my patronage meant nothing. His indifference to my situation and his dismissive attitude have compelled me to take drastic action. Effective immediately, I will withdraw my funds from the FHSA, close all my accounts, and attend the Scotiabank Shareholder Annual Meeting to raise this issue.
