Many cobblestone mosaics can be found throughout Freiburg im Breisgau. Most mosaics are embedded in the cobblestone pavement of the city center of Freiburg. The older mosaics are commonly attributed to the paver Alois Krems. His work was inspired by pavings that he had seen in southern France. More cobblestone mosaics were added during the 1970s when the old city of Freiburg was turned into a pedestrian zone.

Nice interior and gift shop. But to be honest I was a bit disappointed when I stepped inside and it…read morewasn't as colourful and quirky as the cute pieces and decorations on the street outside the shop promised. It just didn't entice me enough to shop, but I'm sure it might for someone looking for a special piece of furniture or interior pieces and not just browsing (with very limited room in the suitcase).

I ordered a Rombach & Haas Traditional & minimalist Cuckoo Clock online from this store. I'm…read morewriting this review because I was unable to find ANY reviews for online orders that are shipped to the US. The price for the clock was great & shipping was high (but expected). I also paid an import duty to the US (also expected). After calculating the overall cost with shipping, the price of the clock was still very competitive & even a little LESS than purchasing within the US. I was so worried about this purchase because, for me, the clock is a luxury item. I found that the best way to communicate with this business is with a FB message. I was put at ease. I'd have absolutely NO reservations ordering another clock from Haus Der 1000 Uhren in the future! It truly was a stellar experience for me.

Our friends found a gigantic clock to have shipped home to California. The store is still special and I love it. My only issue I had this time was that the sales associates felt like they worked on commission and were quite possessive once they started helping someone that they had to be the one to check you out, even if they had started helping someone else. We even witnessed two clerks get into an argument over it which was awkward and uncomfortable. But the selection is great and they have clocks for any budget.
